Default Do any pros with 1HBH use a 18x20 String Pattern?

Do any pros with a one handed backhand play with a tight string pattern say 18x20. Off the top of my head it seems they all have open pattern. Anyone have any thoughts or comments as to why this is and if there are any pros with a tight string pattern? Thanks.

Haas has switched to 16x19

Wawrinka used to use 18x20. So did Dimitrov.

So other than Kuerten the majority of top 15 players with 1hbh have used open patterns. Thoughts as to why this is?

That would explain the shift in their rankings

Except for Dimitrov, he hasn't made any progress yet.

Haas is actually back to an 18x20 as of a few days ago when he lost to Youzhny at the China Open in Beijing (although I think he outplayed Youzhny, just had some calls go against him and lost a couple key points). Here are some pictures I took. Pretty easy to see it's a PT57a 18x20 in IG paint.

FYI, if you can't read it, the pro stock code in the throat of his racket is "C091101"

Hey Marcus 2137, how do you know this is a PT57a, i.e. what features makes it obvious this is that particular racket ?

I can see that, those wouldn't dampen the stringbed though. Nice pics.

Tommy Haas is the only one that comes to mind for me. Maybe also James Blake and Tommy Robredo

Isn't Gasquet's Instinct an 18 main?

Just looked at a picture in another thread and it is 16 mains.
