Default Is there any way to make the response of a racquet more predictable?

My six.one 95 16x18 is a great racquet! but it seems like at times I can hit 2 of the exact same balls, yet one comes off the racquet great, and another sprays or it feels like I "chunked" the ball. Is there any way I can help this or fix it?
I'd like to make the feeling of the hit more predictable.
Apologies if this is has been covered somewhere already.
This may go into tennis tips/ instruction, if so just let me know so I can move it there

Just hit the sweet spot 100% of the time!

I actually know what you mean though. I used the 6.1 95's for the larger part of my tennis "career" and I have experience the same thing. The 6.1 has a spotty bed, which for me is when the bed can hit with absolute monstrous power and Presicion in one spot, and absolutely die in another. (also a huge problem with the areo storms for me)

What I find helped was stringing a bit tighter on the crosses then the mains with a more control oriented string. The 6.1 is a powerful and stiff stick to start with, so to avoid arm problems I strung with a stiff multi. (rip control) at a pretty high tension near the end of my playing days with them. (58/60, 60/62) it didn't feel great on the arm, but it really helped get rid of the spotty-ness.

You're welcome! I definitely wouldn't recommend stringing that high with a poly, but good multis strung higher might help!

You NEVER hit 2 exact same ball. NEVER. Every shot is unique.

So you're looking for a racquet that produces a great shot every time? Let me know when you find one and we'll make millions $$$$.

I'd say the vast majority of rackets do not have the problem you described and lets get real, it really comes down to the player. Alright some rackets do feel odd but that's rare and its definitely not the 6.1. Its possible if the racket is new and the player is not completely used to its response yet, but if you've had the racket for a while its probably not that. Strings could be a possibility. Get yourself some control oriented strings like Volkl Cyclone, WC Scorpion(hybrid), SPP Hextreme Pure (first session using it and it was awesome), and to a lesser extent WC SS (there are others but that's that I've used and liked so far). Don't be lazy about restringing when they are dead. Other than that its excuses and not the equipment.

Some frames do have hotspots in the stringbed. That's a fact. and the 6.1 95 16x18's are one of them. I've hit with them myself, and at the time was using the 90... and there's definitely hotspots, and it wasn't my technique.

I think that the control of the 6.1 95 16X18 is way overrated. It feels great but accuracy isn't it's forte.

Have not noticed these hotspots. There seems to be a lot of power towards the center or slightly below center and kind of dead in the upper hoop, but isn't that just where the sweet spot is on older frames.

Can you use lead-tape to expand the sweetspot?

Like a car with a bad motor, you need to jack up the unit, replace the player, then go on with the racket as is.

I had the same experience as you, then had the opportunity to hit with a pal's 18x20 version....perfection found! The supposed difference in power/spin (with the 16x1 is hardly notable, if at all, plus you can swing away and rarely sail one. Good luck.
