Latest update.......day #2 with the tour 95
The ES 100 vs the tour 95 I cannot believe I'm saying this but I actually like the es 100 better.....but that's only because it suits my style of play. I'm over 40 and a bit slower now. I find myself serving amd volleying to end the points quickly. The es 100 is hands down the greates serve and volley racquet that I have ever played with . The tour 95 is better in every other department. The es 100 is absolutely terrible for serious ground strokes.... If you have a modern game you will love the 95. But for a bit....ahem older players who serve and volley & chip & charge I would go with the es 100. My final test will be the tour 100. Coming soon to a they're near you! |

But didn't woodforde use something else? I think it was green? Anyway I use the 16 gauge blue gear . I absolutely love it on this stick. I think vortex made a huge mistake not coming out with the tour player sticks to begin with. Most people didn't like the other versions as they were not player sticks and are done. But I swear these tour sticks are the real deal. They are very thin. I flirted with the Donnays but these are better in my opinion . |

The stick was amazing the problem is that I am not. It's to demanding for me. I'm a serve amd volleyer am the es 100 is perfect for that. But for today's game with hitting winners from 6 feet behind the baseline the tour 95 is incredible . I have Horrible groundstrokes but I was hitting decent with it. The fact that I could even attempt to play with it proves how great a stick it truly is. |

I recently purchased the new Pro 116 from Vortex. I have been using the ES-116 for the last year and a half. The Vortex has really boosted my ability to compete with younger players. I have moved from a 3.0 to somewhere between a 3.5 and 4.0. I am sure the racket is not the only factor, but it has helped a lot.
Comparing the 2 rackets I find I like the feel of the Pro version better than the ES. It is just a bit more solid feeling. They play close enough so I can switch back and forth though. I just find myself spending more play time with the Pro. I have been experimenting with strings too. I have really taken to BHBR. I tried the silver version in the Pro because it looks better in a racket that is black, silver, and green. I like the feel of the blue better though. |

Dark Knight, sounds like you're happy w/ the Tour 100? I think you tried out the 95 and es100? Do you have any idea what the swingweights are for these frames? They look really stiff but it seems like people in this thread rave about the comfort?
How does the frame compare to Yonex as far as spin? |

I guess they are pretty stiff but it doesn't feel that way at all. I find the sticks to be very comfortable. I have not played with the Yonex but I can tell you that this super wide string pattern is amazing for spin. It really helps your game out quite a bit in my opinion .

Anyone hear about the new Wilson frames that will have the same string pattern as the vortex?

Who really cares. You've got those guys from Vantage (or whatever its called now) all over the message board (and remember how ugly that turned a while back), you've had guys obviously pushing Volkl and you've always had reps from Wilson, Head and Prince who pump up their products. Geez, TW themselves are really biased when they review any of the racquets they've had made specially for them (Donnay Pro One, Slazenger Pro Braided or PS 6.0 85). Just have to use some common sense and separate the real information from the hype.
I just wish the guys from these companies would drop the pretense and give us the simple facts about their products. Although I'd be happier if they left us all alone until they've fully worked out their customer service. I've tried to make contact with Vortex in the past; couldn't be done. Had the same issues with Vantage (I know I'm not the only one whose had that problem). Seriously, why bother putting out a product and then making it almost impossible for people to buy it. |

Nice catch, man. I thought the ongoing Vortexfest between those two pixies was a little strange, even for TT. One good thing came from this read -- I decided to pull the Big Bubba 28 out of my collection and string it up for some crazy fun and goofing around.

Guys,
You can hate vortex or whatever other company . But what you are doing is actually promoting Vortex more . No one really is paying attention to this string ; however by constantly posting you are bumping the thread up more and more and thus giving more attention to it . Now again my stringer tells me that Wilson apparently is coming out with a sinilar string pattern to vortex . Has anyone heard about this Wilson ?
