It just amazes me that he's still in the top 5. He's definitely maxed out his abilities as a tennis player, and when looking at the top 8, he stands out more than the others because he simply doesn't have that booming serve or super powerful groundies. His forehand is awesome, but that serve is probably the worst in the top 20?

Consistency. He's been to the Quarters or better of 14 tourneys this year, even though he hasn't peaked in the big events he still remains more consistent than the guys from 6-10 are.

"How is Ferrer still in the top 5?"
Because 5 titles + QF or better in slams = lots and lots of ATP points |

Ferrer is the new Davydenko, albeit with less skill on hardcourt (duriog Davy's peak years Davydenko owns Nadal on Hardcourt) and about equal skill on clay.

Ferrer is just like nadal who does not have a big serve except one is left hander and lucky to win slams

A week or so ago Ferrer was tied with the most wins on tour this year. Get a clue, OP.

Davydenko's wrist injury cost him.
Peak performance davydenko is better. Davyd has 2 RG semis and 2 RG quarters. In 2005 Davydenko had a 5 set thriller Semi that went down to the wire vs Puerta. David has 1 RG semi and 1 RG quarter. So in the end they are about equal on clay. |

He made 2 SF and 2 QF at the majors this year, who has done better than that other than the top 4? His footwork is phenomenal and he's rock solid off of both sides, with his forehand being a great shot. He's also probably one of the top 3 returners on tour right now.

Ferrer is in trouble. Rafa said he's keen on playing less hardcourt events and MORE clay events, which may include the 2 South American events Ferrer won this year.

Ferrer is 3-3 with Nadal on HC. Not ownage, but given the difference of success, quite an interesting record.

Tied with whom? He is second in the number of titles won this year with 5. Federer currently heads the list with 6.

Daveeed is a better claycourter than Kolya. Look up his Golden Slam record for the past few years, and his results at the big clay Masters - he's in a lot of finals with Rafa in Europe.

Tied with Fed, at 61 wins a piece I believe. This probably isn't the case anymore. Djokovic has surely taken the lead.
