The power pads as they're sometimes called are just small strips cut off a piece of leather. That's it, nothing more.

Power pads have been discussed ad nauseum on these boards - used to be we used them on all string jobs with wood frames...today mainly on gut string jobs on the mains. Totally useless if you are using poly or similar stiff strings. Best way is to take the left over of a leather grip and cut 1cm or so strips - fold in half and then place it under the main strings and the grommets under holes at 1-2, 3-4, 5-6. used to spend extra time in the shop making them for years.......hardly used today - again unless you're using gut it's silly in today's frames.

I use them with poly on my PS85s and they definitely make some difference - mostly in softening the feel a little - marginally though. The times I've not used them the frame is definitely more tonky in sound.

i do this too with my racket. I use this at the same place as federer. I used cyberflash on my mains and seems it did soften it a bit. like 5% change

That's probably because you don't have a Nike wristband on the right wrist. Try that... if that doesn't work, bump it up with a Rolex on the left. That usually does it.

If by mediocre wife, you mean attractive, faithful, supportive, and child-rearing...

You're nuts.

You silly... the Rolex is only on training matches, where Fed doesn't hit his A grade shots. The real deal are without the watch, and your wife must be using her iphone when you play...

Man... And I was hoping someone shaved down the grip pallet on a ProStaff Tour or a nSix.One Tour and painted it over... I'm so utterly disappointed... I was even hoping it was a finished job. Then I come to see it's a guy asking what power pads are and how to get/use them. Oh the utter heartbreak...
