Yes, age is not the issue, it is more the fact that Nadal hangs out with mostly Spanish speaking players, this is no secret. Andy Murray and Nadal do not hang out as far as I have read. They are friendly but Nadal hangs out with the Spanish speaking players.

Even Rafa talked once in some interview about a language barrier when asked in he and Fed were friends.
