Does Federer even have a chance against Murray ? He is so old, he might need a walker to play the match. and andy matches up really well and he is on hot streak.

Federer needs to win Shanghai if he wants a shot at year-end no. 1. His remaining three tournaments are all in consecutive weeks, so it'll be more difficult to win those or even reach the later rounds perhaps. If he loses here, he puts himself in a position where he can't slip up.

2010 Shanghai Final:
[4] Andy Murray (GBR) def. [3] Roger Federer (SUI)
6-3, 6-2

That was after Federer had dismissed the likes of Isner, Soderling and Djokovic without the loss of a set.

No matter how well Federer's playing, Murray has his number, especially at a hard court Masters 1000. Murray to deliver his best performance of the week, thrashing Federer in 2 comfortable sets. 6-2, 6-4.

Right. This could be a boring semi with domination. If Roger doesn't win anymore than 4 games, ticket holders should ask for their money back.

I'm not at all convinced about Murray's form at the moment. He struggled a bit too much putting away Stepanek for my liking. As usual with him, its a case of 'Which Murray is going to show up?"

If he's on form, he has a good chance, if he plays like today...not so good!

Remember what happened in that Gold medal match. It was not fun. Andy seem to really like playing roger and when andy is moving well, Roger doesnt' seem to be able to hurt him and Over-hits. and starts to miss like crazy.

The only reason Murray does have a chance is that it's not a major. Federer is so much better in the big tournaments, even at 40 I'd favor him against Murray. Well at least if he's not after a 5 hour match like at the Olympics.

Federer owns Murray a** when it matters.

so then why did he get blown out in Gold medal match ? Roger said he wanted the gold medal in singles as much as he wanted any slam title in the interview. and yet he got blown out.

He's 31 and didn't recover in time (he would if he were younger). You'll understand when you get older.

Btw I wonder how a 31-year old Murray would do against peak Federer. Cause we already know that a fairly fresh Olderer owned him in the Wimbledon final.

I don't care who wins. As long as Fed is playing, it's enjoyable. If he wins, even better!

Oh now Roger has age excuse built in. so from now on, everytime he loses, it is his age, not that other guy was better.
