key word here is Similar - they are all similar to the retail ones, otherwise they would't do the trick don't you think?

I understand why people get upset with the somewhat dishonest marketing when paintjobs are involved, but isn't the bigger issue the specs of the frame?
Paintjob doesn't affect performance, but the specs of the frame will. I know players generally use lighter frames today than even Sampras' era, but I was still under the impression that most are using frames heavier than basically any frame you can get in stock form. Is that correct? I can't imagine Nadal actually using an 11.3 oz frame, or Tsonga, for example. But, I have no insider info, so I really don't know. |

Someone posted on the lead strips on Tsongas racquets here recently - from P1 or RPNY - pretty clear that his racquet is a lot heavier than stock.
My understanding on Nadal's racquet is that he adds some lead at 12 to increase swingweight.

well roddick always had the same racket since he became pro- a pure drive team (which came out somewhere around 2000). he has been using the same one for the last 12 years but just with different paint jobs. They hit very nicely, I used to own a pure drive team, shame i sold it.

What's with all the trolls on Fed's racket. They came out with a statement in 2007 that Federer is in-fact using stock frames (obviously with better quality control and later customized by P1 to match his grips and weight specs).
If you don't believe Wilson, sue them. The first ammendment protects commercial speech (in this case, speech intended to turn a profit by encouraging sales of the Federer signature racket) except in cases where it is false or misleading. If they are misleading you to believe you can buy Federer's racket and you actually can't, you will win in court and you can force them to retract the statement and issue out a public apology to all the racket fanatics out there (or maybe even have them release his racket to the public). Bottom line, it's not even remotely in their best interest to lie to us and put themselves at such risk. They don't need the negative PR or the risk that the court will actually make them release Tour 90s with quality control on the same level as Federer's racket. It'd be a stupid court case, but there's worthwhile in it for Wilson to release their statements about Federer's racket if it wasn't true. Are all of you THAT dense and stubborn to believe that Federer uses some magical, super custom, ProStaff 90 with golden pixie dust that Wilson can only manufacture 200 grams of each year? Or are you guys just insistent on trolling BreakPoint?
