Several Adidas frames were numbered aswell as named.
Does your racket have white shoulders with a wood grain shaft and 3 white stripes diagonally across the shaft?

There is one on the German Bay at the moment.
I know that the high end Adidas wood frames were made in Belgium by Snauwaert just like the Spalding's.
The numbering seems random, the Nastase racket was a 040 but so was another. I have no clue what it implied.

The 040 was a lower end autograph frame but not one Nastase ever used.....it had his full name on it. the Nasatse Comp was the 555 model (brown and bronze graphics). it was the same frame most adidas players (like Yannik Noah) used in the 70s and early 80s and was a paint job of the Halliet model (also 555).

I've got a few Adidas rackets in my shed, let me have a good look at the numbers.
I'll be back.....

What adidas had were frames labeled 010, 020, 040.....the 010 was a Junior frame the 020 a lower end starter frame that sold for just under $20 or so then the 040 (white and red with Ilie Nastase on he hoop) a little higher end for the average player selling for $25 then you had the Nastase Comp 555 frame that sold for about $30+ and was the top frame.

I checked my stock and what Gavna implies seems to be correct.
My high end Adidas frames are either 550 or 555.

Note that the earlier adidas frames were made in Spain - the original Halliet sticks I played with in the juniors all were from Spain......I still have one of my original sticks (still strung with Victor Gut).
