Just wanted say goodbye to one of my favorite players on the tour, Juan Carlos Ferrero. He was one of those guys that got hampered with injuries most his career, but the run to the Us Open finals in 2003, beating Hewitt and Andre on the way,was inspiring and got him to #1 in the world. I wish him all the best in this next chapter of his life.

I'll remember him for that incredible fh (1999-2003), and for beating Pete at Kooyong. Safin at that time proclaimed him as having the best fh on tour, it was truly devastating.

Always so neat, both in dressing and his game, a true gentleman on and off the court; will definitely be badly missed. Who knows how much he would have achieved without all those niggling injuries,

I always enjoyed watching JCF play, especially at his peak but also in his later years when he improved on grass.
He should be very proud of himself, he put together a set of career accomplishments that over 99% of players who turn pro could only dream of matching. Plus given all the business ventures he has in place, he is in a good position to make the transition into his post-career life very easily. |

Hopefully a goodbye message from ATPworldtour and Uncovered video of him as well.
He was very enjoyable to watch on Clay in his prime compared to Nadal, Moya, Corretja and the other great Spanish Claycourters.

I remember watching the epic final of 2001 Rome Masters on TV between him and Guga. It is one of my all time favorite clay court matches.

Never cared for his serve. Great player though. Injuries are a sad part of any sport but staying injury free plays a huge role in making players like Fedrer and Sampras possible. You gotta be ready to play. JCF was very fun to watch and wished he had stayed injury free.

Maybe the guy that set the foundations for the resurgence of Spanish tennis.
I will remember most his Davis Cup wins. Hope he keeps in contact with tennis via his academy and coaches somebody. ¡Hasta la vista! |

A class act and real gentleman. Definitely will be a HOF candidate . Sadly was only able to see him play in the last few years when he was past his peak. Repped as a smart business man so hope he enjoys much success in his retirement. He will be missed.

a dissapointing career in the end (basically his last decade of play could have been skipped) but for a short time he was actually very good. he should have retired 5 years ago though.
he is also responsible for roddick winning a slam title. no way roddick would have defeated andre in that 2003 final |
