I read TW review and thought they did a good job. I read the posts about their review but too many were arguing about other things instead of the actual racquet.
Can someone who currently has the racquet or has demoed the racquet, write a small review about what they thought about how the racquet performed? |

I hit with it very briefly-- Very solid, not much negative to say. However, that was (as I said) a very brief hit.

I've been hitting with one off and on for a couple of months. Best OS I've ever played with. I played with the POG for years and with the m-speed 105 for about a year. The Agassi is more solid and has more control then both of those. Nice flex as well. Swingweight is a little high but if you play mostly a baseline game you can't beat it. I play mostly s/v so it really doesn't fit me. I really bought it more as a collectors racquet but my son wants a k-factor so I may be selling it. Racquet is in 9.9/10 condition. I've haven't completely decided if I want to part with it but if your interested email me at rick.batchelder@clinton.edu and I'll keep in contact.

Sorry to bump an old thread.
I'm recovering from three years of trauma and pain from a pair of hollow-feeling Pure Drive + Cortexs, and one year of the boredom from a pair of dunlop aerogel 4d 300s. I got a beat up 1st gen POG OS for a song two weeks ago, and a lightly used CTS Synergy DB 24 last week, which have put the fun back in my tennis. I love the weight, balance, flex, and solid feel that seem to be missing from 2000s racquets. Unfortunately, the Synergy seems like it's starting to crack above the handle, so I'm wary of getting more used racquets. Earlier today I saw a brand new radical LE on sale for the equivalent of US$80 in a local store, and they said they could probably get me another one. Will this racquet put a smile on my face like the POG OS and the Synergy? |

mmmmm.... didn't you see the thread about Agassi using a APD? Also he supposedly bought with his own money a lot of Donnay x-102s. If the Head was so good, I don't think he'd be using all these different frames.

That said, the Head Agassi Radical LE is a very solid frame from my brief hit with it as well. OS Radicals have always been a logical choice for people who've used POG OS in the past and at $80, sounds like a decent deal. |

But yes, I'm surprised that Sampras' change to a Pure Storm isn't more astonishing... perhaps I missed that thread. Last edited by Roforot : 10-24-2012 at 03:10 AM. Reason: SAMPRAS |

As others who have hit with the AA LE say, it is an incredibly solid frame. We have several Radical Trisys 260 OS's (the racquet the re-issued AA LE was based on) and, although the newer version does not have twaron in the layup and are made in China, Head did a remarkable job of capturing the flavor and feel of the originals. I goof around with these from time to time and always enjoy the solid feel and comfort. My wife plays with the 260 OS so the AA LE's are back-ups to her back-ups. BTW, none of the current Head OS's are remotely close to the originals or the AA LE in goodness.

Chotobaka, did you find the LE noticeable stiffer and/or less arm friendly than the Trisys 260? Did you find them equal in feeling solid, or did the LE merely come much closer than the recent Rad OS's? Would you agree with your wife that the 260, if you can get a couple with non-distorted heads, is the preferable (if slight) first choice?

I sold my pair of Dunlop 4D 300s and got the LE yesterday. It seems the store people don't know anything about it, just that it is an old model. It came without the rubber band, and the original case. But I didn't care because I won't use them anyway.
Played three sets today. Kept the stock strings. Heavy, comfortable, solid, controlled, AND powerful. My POG is "happy", and my CTS Synergy 24DB is "fun". But the LE is the "god" racquet. WOOOOOOOOW! |

2. Both are equally solid. 3. We have had no issues with distortion on the 260's. We did look for a long time to find as perfect examples as we could. The two 260's in her bag started out as 9/10's. We have another 260 that, while not brand new because it had been strung and hit with once or twice, is as close to NOS as you can get -- right down to the as-new bumble-bee grip and NOS original extra bumper/grommet sets. I don't think much of recent Radical OS's. My wife does keep a LM Radical OS in her bag as a lighter alternative -- good racquet. Getting Trisys 260's in really top notch condition is becoming more and more difficult, and it seems like most for sale are 4 1/2 or 4 5/8 (which makes sense since larger grip sizes were the norm in those days). I would not hesitate to get an AALE in brand new or as-new condition at the right price. A big problem with getting a really good 260 these days is the fact that the vintage racquet specialists understandably ask for vastly inflated prices for what limited supply is available. A new LE in the correct grip size for up to $150.00 is a practical alternative, even if not quite as collectable. Last edited by Chotobaka : 10-28-2012 at 05:04 AM. |

Went back to the store yesterday and asked them to find me another LE. I picked it up today. Still no rubber band (not an issue with me though), but this one came with the original "autograph" case. The salesgirl told me to give back the generic case from the first one, and she will replace it with the real thing.

I remember TW reviewed the Agassi bumblebee when Head released or remade these or re-release. They were high on it. It is, of course, very similar to the POG OS. One thing I really prefer about the POG is the thinner beam. The POG had more plow through to me.

Yeah, the 19 mm beam on the Prince Graphite is nice, and the 18x20 pattern on the Radical is also nice. I wish someone would make a frame that had both. A Pogglebee. (The Precision Graphite 700 might actually be The Pogglebee, though it looks to be a little stiffer. I haven't been able to get one to see for myself.)
Thanks for the thorough comparison, Chotobaka.

^ the LE Radical actually has an 18x19 pattern. Its beam is indeed thicker than the POG, though, at 21mm.

Seems odd. The 260 I have is 18x20.

danotje: The LE is not a 260. And the LE really is an 18x19.
