Wow I just read the whole thread and am saddened to see how lethargic SJPD has been on this issue. Good to know that these criminals are currently awaiting trial for some despicable crimes to one of society's most vulnerable members.

He is still awaiting trial.
Do not believe he has formally pleaded yet.
Still in jail I believe. Did not make bail.

Charles Nguyen, 25, of San Jose, July 16, 11:25 a.m., at 190 West Hedding St. in San Jose, for 14 counts of felony elder abuse likely to produce great bodily harm or death, or willfully causing or permitting any elder or dependent adult, with knowledge of the elder’s condition, to suffer or inflict unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering; for resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer; and two misdemeanor counts of failing to give proper care and attention to an animal. Bail set at $500,000.

As always, thanks for your work on outing these scumbags. I just can't fathom doing things like this to other people.

This is by far the best thread ever! I'm glad they got him eventho it was for some other crime. You may be over it by now, but I certainly hope that someday you'll see your rackets again.

I have to say that I find it very disappointing whenever I read about my fellow countrymen committing any crime. We Viets are very fortunate to be here in the US and should not repay this debt with unethical conduct.

I would have imagined the punishment to be pretty severe, too, but then again, there's a lot of lopsided and nonsensical sentences in the justice system. If he comes out a changed man, that's good enough for me.

I don't share your optimism about his future, Dire. He seems like a pathological case to me. I think he is going to be a career criminal.

The post that contained the recent news accounts was deleted for some reason (another bizarre decision.)

Bottom line: In a plea bargain deal, Charles and his mommy pleaded no contest and agreed to prison time (up to four years.)
The father died in jail, the sister was released with time served. They are out of jail pending sentencing in late January.

I expect the worst due to his past history, but hope for reform never hurt anyone

Hope they were made to surrender their passports. I would imagine that they are probably investigating ways to leave the country illegally and avoid a prison term.

^A different guy. Not the infamous Charlie Nguyen of San Jose, CA.

http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/searc...rchid=14172276

tennis_nut

Nguyen is like Smith or Jones for viets; a very common name.

Besides, the ad isn't written in pidgin English so it isn't out fiend, Charlie.
Hopefully, he has bigger issues to deal with pending sentencing and jail time than scamming people here.

Tennis_nut, given the history, you might want to use a different email address. Unfortunately, due to Charles the Criminal, the name nguyen is sort of a red flag around here.

OK, I was just making sure. If there wasn't so much to worry about from the other guy, I would have taken some more time to research the good seller's references. Sorry!

The latest and the greatest.

The other sister involved also pleaded no contest and is awaiting sentencing.

This article suggests our fiend Charley was the one who beat the schizophrenics that they were housing/imprisoning and stealing from. Not too surprised. Sentencing to occur sometime in March.

Thank you for the clarification sir. I am as honest and straightforward as they come. This Charles guy gives us Nguyens a bad name

I might look into the email change thing. It may make things easier for me here. Thank you for the advice. Take care!

I recently read the sticky at the top of the refs pages, and I saw earlier in this thread that someone was going to try and contact the prosecutors about the scam he successfully pulled 4? years ago. It doesnt say anything about it in the article, but do we know if he is being charged with internet fraud?

No. Too hard to prove at this point. It was years ago and the guys he defrauded are in different countries and different states. But, karma caught up with this creep. He is going to jail for about 4 years or so, hopefully more.

It sure would suck to be in his position right now, I wonder if he thinks about his scam on two unlucky people from this board. Or if he can really remember it at all? Im assuming theres many other things that he did in those 4 years that have caused it all to be a blur. He can probably remember.

I recall seeing a Charles Nguyen on an early morning clinic show on the tennis channel a couple weeks ago. It looked like him in his mug shot too. He was also using a microgel head extreme too, I wonder if it was the one he took from ____ (can remember the username) I believe it was filmed three year ago, so around summer of 2009.

If it was filmed in San Jose, it might be him.

Just deserts.
