There weren't many posts left of the Pony from this thread but from the ones I read, wow. That's certainly some venom towards Fed.

The deleted ones were far worse. Unnecessary attacks against the innocent Federer family. I can only hope it's a lengthy sanction.

Is Delpo now the favorite to win the YEC ? isn't that surface kind of similar to this swiss one ?

No, he is not the favorite to win the YEC! He would be fourth favorite on the list after Djokovic, Federer and Murray.

Roger Federer pulls out of Paris Masters
The Associated Press – 5 hours ago.. .

BASEL, Switzerland (AP) -- Roger Federer pulled out of the Paris Masters on Sunday to rest for the ATP World Tour Finals in London.

The indoor Paris tournament starts Monday. The top-ranked Swiss announced his withdrawal after losing a 2-hour, 44-minute final against Juan Martin del Potro at the Swiss Indoors.

''It's the only right decision for me,'' he said. ''I had some niggling stuff and I didn't want to take a chance obviously before the World Tour Finals. I need some time to prepare.''

In 2011, Federer won the Paris tournament for the first time at age 30 and took the London title the following week.

''I had one of the best weeks of my life last year,'' he said. ''The fans were amazing, and the last thing I want to do is mislead any fans. This is really just a last-minute decision.''

Federer will start a record 302nd week ranked No. 1 on Monday, but risks losing that status to Novak Djokovic in the final two weeks of the season.

Tournament organizers said Federer will be replaced in the main draw by lucky loser Victor Hanescu of Romania.

It's amazing that Del Potro, a top ten player, needs to play amazingly and also have Federer play at 80% to secure a win.

The whole tournament long Federer has been off-par... no pizazz or spark in his play and clearly annoyed about it by the look of his face in the last couple of matches.

Del Potro, by contrast, served really well most of the week. Really good to see him pick it up a notch. Hope he can keep on his path back to the top 5.

Nice win for JMDP, I figured all those loses to Fed would lead to something like this. He keeps getting closer and by AO he might be ready to make a finals run.

Congrats to Delpo. I was pretty sure Delpo was going to take this one after all those losses to Fed this year, especially the OG match, it was just a matter of time. I was surprised that it even went to a 3rd set TB, I had almost expected a straight sets win for Delpo.

This year is very much like the post Wimby 2009 season for Fed, he won squat after Cincy for the rest of the year. He has played a lot and also must be relieved and finding it hard to stay sharp after attaining his goals for the year, quite like in 2009. I think he may make the semifinals of WTF this year but not make the finals.

Apparently, Sexi still threw a pizza party for ballkids despite the loss.
How arrogant.

Did anyone think that had the match not have a final set TB, it would have gone to something like that Olympics as well? Fed was definitely holding service games comfortably, getting into Delpo service games but never manages to break on BP. It was the same situation in OG.

Yes, and Fed was getting slowly better, Delp the other way -- Rog ran out of time. A five setter would have gone to Federer, I think.

Of Novak winning slams when on the very precipice of defeat?

Yes, I agree. The AO was a sign of things to come.. Djokovic will scrape out major wins.. and slowly but surely close the gap with Nadal, who will not be repeating his 2010 next year.

He had to as its tradition, he couldnt care a less. He doesnt care about his fans either, there is no athlete who does.

They do all because of the sponsors and money.

Why would they care about some stupidass fanboys?

Exactly why would Roger do this pizza party unless Nike has all their cameras there?

I've heard of athletes who visited fans' homes, helped them out financially, and even give free match-tickets to them, all behind the scenes with no media-coverage.
