Hmm, Sock and Johnson just played at my old club, let me see what I can find out. I saw a lot of the rackets being strung and they were usually low 50's and some in the mid-40's. I should have taken some notes.

I strung Sock's frames earlier this year at a futures event, and then again at the Cincinatti Masters 1000. Both times he strung at 38lbs.

At the futures, he was using Pro Hurricane Tour. At Cincy, he was using Pro Hurricane, and then purchased a few reels of Alu Power after trying it out, and deciding to switch.

I believe Johnson uses polystar energy mains and gut crosses. Paire uses full ALU power, I believe in the high forties.

Steve Johnson's setup at the US Open this year against Gulbis. IIRC, that's an Aero Storm, possibly Tour GT as I saw some wordings after "Storm" through the reflection off the plastic bag. I was sitting next to his coach and didn't even know who he was then but thought "Heck, I'll just take a photo".

Paire uses ALU Power. Likes to vary his tension around 23-24kg. Sometimes like to ask for something stupid like 23.6kg.

Hey Drak, Have you ever strung for top juniors like at the Easter Bowl or in your case the Orange bowl? Also, Would you happen to know either Devin Britton's or Denis Kudla's string set up?

Denis Kudla uses some black poly, not sure what. Tension is low 50s.

When was the Challenger you are talking about? I remember him using ruff code a while back but I did not know if he is still using it now. Thanks for the reply guys!

Still wondering about Devin Britton though. Also, If anyone has any info on Bjorn Fratangelo, Mitchell Krueger or, Thai-son Kwiatkowski string set up I would love to know what they are using. Sorry for all of these players but it would be great if someone knows, and would tell me any of these players set ups.

Thanks, R.W

It was Oct. 6-14, I stood right next to the stringer as she strung it. Reel of Black Code sitting there. Let before crosses so not sure if he hi-brid it. Quite a few using black VS in their sticks.

^ I know that, I just meant for example, Denis Kudla is said to be using all black code, but at the tournament Bash and Crash was at, he saw a lot of black gut which could mean that Denis was using a hybrid, that's all I meant by that. Some pros may not be using what they say they are.

Kudla was using full black code at 44lbs, two piece, according to the guy who strung it up.
