Hi all,
Going on a rather unplanned trip to Orlando this week (Oct 25-Nov 4) with my wife and 9 year old boy. My wife has some business for a few days in Celebration. As you can imagine, I'll be up to my neck in theme park activities Anyway, on the off chance I can sneak in some tennis watching- are there any events going on during this time? I see ESPN wide world of sports nearby on Google maps.. I see there's a Nike outlet store nearby- any good? Lastly (completely non tennis related)- what's the best transportation option to and from Legoland? Thanks Guys! |

Celebration is a neat little area. Kind of looks like New England took over a small patch of Florida.
As for tennis watching, I think your best option is to watch a Power Player versus Bad_Call match. The outlet stores in Orlando are pretty good. I don't use Nike stuff so I can't answer about that particular store. As for transportation to Legoland, that is a pretty good haul from where you are staying. If you don't have a rental car, I'm guessing a cab is your only option but that will cost an arm and a a leg. |

Bad call and i have been selling out seats for our matches so make sure you arrive early. If not you can settle for watching ssgator versus mikeler, but they use rather cheap balls so the rallies are quick..lol.

Correction, ssgator uses cheap balls. I only buy premium grade balls. |

After surviving 4 straight days of theme parks, I finally escape to the Nike Outlet Store in Vineland, only to find slim pickins
Pretty chilly weather! |

Oh we definitely contributed to the economy, believe you me! Still have a couple of days of theme parking left (groan said the wallet). But to be honest we did have a blast! My next video will probably show me a few pounds heavier from all the food :/
Did get gouged by one taxi driver (gypsy?). That left a bad taste in the mouth. No worries about the weather- I just wish I had packed more jackets in! Oh well more reason to shop Last edited by Greg G : 10-31-2012 at 03:06 AM. |

This cool snap is below average for this time of year. A few years ago, I played a tournament the 3rd week of October and it was 93 degrees that weekend which is also well above normal. Just depends on the year. |

If you want to shop tennis - go to Tennis Plaza on International Drive. You might see Mikeler buying the best balls on the planet - according to him.

Hey Guys - Will be down at the Sheraton Vistana Resort in Mid November with the family for a week. Will spend most of the time with the kids at the parks, but hope to play a couple of times during the week. Anyone know the tennis scene there? Any good pros to hit with or clinics?
Thanks.... |

It has been a few years but they had 8+ clay courts. At the time they were adequately maintained - but not the best. Better than nothing.

Went back to the outlet store on Vineland, found a better selection now. Got a few shirts. Anyway we fly home tomorrow, after doing our duty to contribute to the local economy
Great tennis weather here! I was itching to play the entire time. Last edited by Greg G : 11-05-2012 at 08:44 AM. |

Hello,
We are going to spend some time in Orlando in december. Can you suggest some good, not to expensive, har-thru courts we can rent? A place where it is possible to book in advance via the web would be perfect |
