Frank Zappa is horrible music. Frank Zappa makes you feel all weird.

^ Sounds like something Frank Zappa would say.

After I started playing Bongo Fury (with Captain Beefheart) in my dorm in college I had one of my roommates come up to me and say that at first he thought is was just really weird (and he was a psych major) but after a while he loved it and thanked me for playing it and opening him up to the wonder he had found in Zappa's music.

Yeah, the last third of the 20th century pop culture was shackled by these "overrated hacks". You could have saved Michael Jackson a ton of money with your sage advice! Carry on in your enlightened bliss now that we have been liberated from the doldrums of mediocrity by the likes of nSync, Menudo, the Guidos/Guidettes of the Jersey Shore and all others that have their 15 minutes of fame but deserve our eternal worship.

Speaking of chutes, "Brown Shoes Don't Make It" is an off-the-wall gem of Frank's
(begins at 33:25 of the included "Absolutely Free" LP included in it's entirety at the bottom for your listening pleasure).

That said, click on the youtube link below--what more appropriate opening than this on Election Day? :

Back when we were engaged, my wife had to go out of state for a week. Before she left, she had a life-sized cardboard standee of herself in nothing but an apron made, to keep me company. I named her artificial Rhonda.

Yea - I'm two months late, but ' Absolutely Free', too funny, I'd only play the album when the folks weren't home. Why ? hint *13* we'll leave it at that.

FZ was something I'd hoped to like but it just wasn't and isn't where I'm at. Not my bag at all, baby. Good luck wit it.

Willie the Pimp is one of the solos I feel is most underrated.

Muffin Man is pure God mode as far as I am concerned. Besides the music, I think that Zappa as a symbol/message is one of the most powerful and influential on contemporary anti-big establishment/censorship thoughts.
