Default Experiment with lead tape

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone have place lead tape at all 3,9,10, and 2'oclock on their racquet and did you achieve good results.

Significant power boost the more lead you add at 3 and 9.

Same applies to 2 and 10, but the sweetspot and power will be higher up the more lead you add.

I play with a 10 oz racket, 4.0 level.
Adding 12 grams to 10-12 barely adds anything at all, but takes away from second serves and ease of movement.
I hit with strong SW forehand and strong Ebackhand, not ever flat, so power makes little difference, plowthrough not needed.
First serves, holding well down at the buttcap, plenty of power.
Return of first flat serves, I do need to add some stroke behind my blocking action.

It will increase the SW. More plow through, but more difficult to swing. There is always a trade-off.

I put it 10 and 2 - probably 2" per side on a 350g racquet. I love the weight. You can put on too much and I've worked my way up to this amount.

10 and 2 stinks. it feels unnatural unless you add something really light like 3 grams.

put it at 3-9 or 12 or 11-1 or 3-9 and 12 together.
many ppl leave 1 inch space of no lead at 12 because lead at 12 makes some racquets have a 'dead feel'. Yonex has this issue as does some head sticks. Djoko has a 1 inch gap of lead at 12 as do many others.
add counter weight at butt or 7 inches above butt. 7 inches above butt gives added maneuverability and also reduces vibration because of the mass above the hand. if you have tennis elbow issues or stiff frame 7inches is a good location to reduce that.
adjust to get the right head balance. most ppl prefer 3-10 pts headlight. adjust to get swing weight that you like.

check out the 'official lead placement' thread.

Well, Cheetah has hit with my racquets so he would know. But it works for me.

My racquet (Prince Rebel 95, not the team version) already is a heavy racquet with a pretty high swing weight (at least it feels that way). I just wanted a touch more swing weight without adding to the overall weight very much.
