I apologize for the stupid question. In the string instructions, what is it referring to when it says "7T, 9T, 9H, etc."
Stringing Instructions: Pattern: 16 x 18 Tension: 50 - 60 lbs. String length: 34' (ss: 9'6") or (18' M’s & 16' X’s) Start M’s: At throat. Mains skip 7T, 9T, 7H & 9H. Tie off M’s at 8T. If one-piece stringing: Start X’s at bottom at 7T. Tie off X’s at 5H. If two-piece stringing: Start X’s at top at 7H. Tie off X’s at 5H & 11T.

They are the Throat and Head holes/grommets. You start counting at the 6 and 12 o'clock positions respectively. 7T would be the 7th grommet from the 6 o'clock position (symmetrical on both sides).

For future reference, this should be in stringing techniques.

Phil: Since you are new to stringing, maybe you would find these videos helpful.
http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=172626 They are not listed in any order, but are labeled as to content of each. Happy stringing. If you have any more questions on stringing, just post on the stringing techniques/ stringing machines section and myself and many others will be glad to help you out. As pointed out above, T & H represent throat and head, however, some instructions are given in T & B, for top and bottom. In this case T is the opposite position on the racket.

I kid you not, I have seen instructions that were "top" and "handle" for T and H.
I think most of the time, it's throat and head. |
