That's why I bought it, big EVH fan and EB/MM electronically scanned Ed's old Kramer 5150 neck and reproduced it with the EVH sig/Axis model.

Although I'm more a Stratocaster guy, right now I'm using a Telecaster with Marshall or Engl amps live. An old Roland amp for practice.

Nice. The second one looks like the one I would like more to play.

That's my Martin Custom Dread Classic Rosewood. Like a D28. She's a smooth cannon. First one is a Martin Sustainable Wood OMGT. Number 3 is a Martin beater for campfires, last is a Taylor 314ce

A lot of us have been tracking with software for a while. I know that is pretty much horrific and awful to say in any gear related community, but I have fooled a lot of people with my les paul going into softube's vintage amp room with a ts9 in front.
I know about soundcloud..any other good little small audio hosting sites where I could upload some blues licks next time I record something?

The guitar I probably play the most at the moment is a no-brand classical parlor guitar that I got at the local thrift store for $3. I keep it in my office, because it's quiet enough that I can plink around without bothering my co-workers.
At home I play a couple of entry-level Godin guitars-- either the steel-string Art & Lutherie Ami that I learned on, or a Norman solid-top dreadnought that my wife bought when she was trying to learn (don't know the model). The Ami is a parlor guitar with a pretty nice sound though of course lacking in the bass dept.; the Norman is easy to play (very low action and stays in tune like a champ), but doesn't produce as full a sound as you might expect for a guitar of its size and materials. Someday maybe I'll spring for an American guitar. |

Glad to see some EBMM love out here too. I have a EBMM JP6. Just love the feel of EBMM necks.

Re: software modeling, I thought that Amplitube sounded pretty good when I used that, and my Eleven Rack sounds awfully good - the Bogner model is insane.

I'm a big fan of classic racquets, but I don't like classic guitars. Uncomfortable bodies and necks, small frets, almost useless tremolos, ugly imho ... On the other side, sound is great on some. Modern "superstrats" are my definite choice. I currently play Jackson DKMG, and before it there was Kramer 610 and Ibanez RG.

Kalic, I think a lot of it has to do with the style of music you like to play too. I like playing blues rock/grunge/indie..Now you can play any style on anything (just like tennis), but for example my friends who produce a ton of metal hate teles, strats and LPs (metal producers need perfect intonation on their guitars and tune every single take for super tight doubles) and love Ibanez Universes, Jacksons and guitars like that.
If I was going to guess, Id say you are into metal even though you can play any style you want on your guitars, it just fits the "profile".

As for song sharing sites, SoundCloud and ReverbNation are the two I was told to look at recently when I wanted to share some stuff I was playing around with. I ended up putting a few things on SoundCloud as it was very easy to get started with. Here's some fun stuff I just put up on SoundCloud. Quote:

Ken this is great. Reminds me of all the guitar player solo records that were out in the 80s and 90s. My guitar teacher played a lot like you. He would play the national anthem before sports games the same way you play.

Heh... I actually own a Fly Artist model and not a a Nitefly, but a FlyArtist forum name sounded too much like I was a rapper or something! The guitar weighs next to nothing and stays in tune better than any guitar I've owned. Probably due to the stability from the carbon-glass composite all over it.
