I guess they couldn't justify the huge jump and I'm pretty sure the sales plummeted as well.

I suppose it was worth a shot for them. The bad thing could be their original customers may have made a permanent switch to another string by now.

to players, its a great low powered, great spin, holds tension well string. but to stringers, its a challenging product to string with.

I was buying a ton of the stuff for me and my kids. After the price hike I decided to dump it and won't be switching back.

It has no feel in the 16g.

I love the 17G.. but I break it too fast and I am not a string breaker. Very interesting string.

I also agree. By the way, it is a great cross string with a poly main if you are battling slight TE.

I have switched to a poly / syn. gut hybrid. I'm using MSV Focus Hex Soft and Forten Sweet. Great spin and soft feel. In reel form it comes out to $4.00 which is much better than the price of RIP Control.

It's apples to oranges. If your arm can't take poly, it's not an option unless you want to restring it every 3-4 hours.

I just ordered some RIP Control 16 at the new price. I've been breaking too many multis on shanks recently. I'm hoping that RIP Control 16 will pass the shank test. I'll be using it as a main with a softer multi cross like Hexy or PPA. That combination seems to work for me.

I wanna try 17 so bad. I'm almost out of hexy fiber and am looking to experiment again. The price drop is welcomed!

I never liked it. I didn't find it to be low powered. it just frayed too much.
