Default WTF - Lars Graff's last tournament as ATP Chair Umpire

Lars Graff is retiring as a chair umpire after 2012 WTF, after about 30 years of on court officiating. He will go to work in the Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida ATP offices, as well as continue to work as an ATP World Tour supervisor/referee. But, his on court days of officiating will come to an end after tomorrow.

Best wishes to Lars in his new position. Have only heard good things about him from those around pro tennis.

I thought his last tournament would be the Stockholm Open!

Cool guy. Intimidating as hell though. I even have a picture of me with him!

Sorry to hear that.

From what I have seen from him, he was/is at his right place, officiating matches on the highest level.

Best of luck in the future!

Great umpire. Now we are left with the likes of Mohamed Lahyani. Yuck. A weak era of umpiring is to befall the ATP tour.

I will always remember Lars Graff for this - what sounded like '...jizz/jews' - said it after the epic Federer/Hewitt point in 2002(?)

Sad to see such a veteran umpire retire, but I guess that's just life. Also kind of sad that umpires such as Graff are unappreciated for their work.

Umpiring seems like something you could do until you were quite old, but I would think that the constant travel would wear you out eventually.

He been a great umpire. Always loved the Swede calmness he had.

He looks serious to the goofy Layani.

Usually he does not make mistakes....this week has been poor maybe because it his last tournament. Some bad overules and misses of the ball. Del Potro was annoyed.
