Lakers should also deal with Kobe's ego that's killing their team spirit

They signed Steve Nash, and he ain't cheap, then decided to take the ball out of his hands. And you had Pau Gasol jacking up threes.

Well, Warriors get to test the coachless Laker's tonight. Small helter skelter ball vs big slow guys inside, so it depends on W's outside shooting vs Laker's big's down low.
I think OKC and Chicago might exploit the big slow guys, but not the Warriors without Rush. |

Mike D'Antoni will coach the Lakers... and go.
Memphis Grizzles sort of owned the Miami Heat. How come no one ever talks about them? In my opinion, I think they have the best front court with Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol. And Rudy Gay, such an underrated superstar. They've been my favorite team to watch in the playoffs, I just hope they can go deep soon and do some damage!

Landing a superstar changes that...we've had our 15 minutes of fame in Orlando twice and national attention was paid us on our attempts for the O'Brien Trophy. Ditto for Salt Lake when Malone/Stockton crested. Currently, OKC gets attention due to Durant.
Memphis will get attention without the one pure superstar if they can consistently make the playoffs and go deep, in not all the way.

Memphis has to prove it self in the playoffs. Get past the second round and stay healthy. Until then people wont pay attention.
Brown should have never been hired, so Kudos to the Lakers for acting quick. Alot of teams would sit and wait 25-30 games. The lakers knew they had a favorable schedule and didnt want brown to get a little 4 or 5 game win streak. So they canned him. I think the Lakers were wise to bring in Mike D as opposed to PJ. Only because of Steve Nash. In the triangle PG are disposable. Nash would be miserable playing in that system. Making the trade to get him pointless. Mike will atleast run an offense the players will like to run. The whole team will get plenty of shots and nash will sorta be a player coach in getting the rest of the guys up to speed.

Im very interested in the MikeD Lakers. MikeD has a horrible track record in the playoffs, but he never had a roster like this.
Once again though, he coaches a very up tempo style. That is difficult to execute with older players and a thin bench. I know they got him because his relationship with Nash and they needed a quick fix. But let's see if the Lakers can run his offense and sustain that pace all year.

Not more chatter on the Lakers situation? I'm not a big fan of D'Antoni, you have to play D at some point to win a title, period. Not sure if Dwight and Kobe can do it on their own on D. This is a lost season for LA, just gotta hope Dwight doesn't screw them over and leave them at the altar.
Speaking of, Bynum injured - again. Shows why teams weren't willing to take the risk on him as the franchise player. And Westbrook still is a chucker - 25 shots to 22 for Durant in barely beating Detroit. The West is a mess, outside of San Antonio. |

I think that Knicks under MDA were a top 6-7 defensive team one year. Phoenix never played any D so that's that but they almost got to the finals despire injuries and suspensions. I'm not the biggest fan of Pringles but i think guy desreves a chance. People (me included) are mad how the whole "Phil thing" got handled. It is, what it is. MDA never had so much talent on his teams... Phil always
Here's a funny vid, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5Mi3b4vcCE P.s. Westbrook won't change |

The thing about those Phoenix years was that, you can throw a Mike Brown, Tom Thibodeau, and your favorite defensive oriented coach in there and they still wouldn't play defense. They just didn't have the personnel.

In my opinion they more important stats is FG % against so not only do toher teams shoot more, but they make a very large percentage of thsoe shots compared to other teams. The Knicks were never higher than 24th in the league under dantoni. They were never much better under Isiah in his last couple years either though. Compare that to when Dantoni was with the Suns and they were always in the middle teens with FG against. Knicks this year so far are top 10 in FG against. Last year the Knics were 5th in ponits allowed per 100 possesions. But alot of the has to do with the final 25 games under woodson

This is why hiring Nate McMillan would be huge.

He is a good defensive coach. Runs a good scheme. Plus he now has Dwight Howard.

Impressive Heat cooldown by the Clips...I never thought in a lifetime I could dare say Sterling owns a contender. A couple of stallions, role players, a deep bench and a coach who knows which buttons to push...nice recipe for play in May!
