The Firkins tweeted that they had theirs available, and it was literally gone in a half hour. Thankfully, I got my two bottles there before it was sold out. Something like 25 minutes from start to finish, and they had a LOT of cases.

Douggo - United Liquor off of 90th and Penn in Bloomington had a couple left when I stopped in tonight, and they were not on the floor, so you might have luck checking there if you get in Tuesday.

It's almost like drinking a mild bourbon - heavy vanilla flavor, very smooth mouthfeel, and a pretty hefty alcohol flavor for a beer (it comes in at a hair over 10% ABV). Highly recommended.
Just need to quote this, as I got a hold of the 2012 vintage over the weekend and sampled one last night. This is a ridiculously good brew. Well worth the pricetag IMO.

Finally had Pliny the Elder on tap this last weekend and it was everything I had been led to believe.

The Book of Mormon musical I saw afterwards was a tad overrated though.

Oooh - Hop Devil. Haven't had one of those in a while. I should pick up a sixer of that one of these weeks.

Recieved a sampler pack from third street brewing last night. I'm looking forward to assembling and unboxing gifts for the rugrat to some new flavors. Merry Christmas ttw.

brewed a piney, citrusey IPA (not uber hoppy ~65IBU) which was well received/reviewed by fellow brewers and IPA drinkers. maybe enter a further refined version in next year's competition. Merry Christmas dudes and dudettes.

Great to see this thread revived.

Received a book of beer recipes for Christmas, all of which are all-grain recipes. I'm now starting to price out the move from extract to all grain. Being a finance person by day, I'm doing a CBA to figure out my anticipated payoff timeline if I were to stop buying commercially brewed beer in favor of homebrew.

shoot me an email and will be happy to share tips going cheap.

got a hops book for Christmas from one of my suppliers. interesting reading thus far and a good reference. it's ridiculous how much $ saved if one has the time and pays attention to details when brewing.

Happy Holidays to the TT microbrew crew!

I was on Santa's naughty list so he brought me these bad boys:

The Sofie is a special-occasion bottle since it shares my daughter's name.

The Encore IPA will be gone by tomorrow

I could say I try it every now and again. I usually "try" to consume large amounts in short time frames, which never ends well.

I have a bottle of the 12 year special reserve at home, and it is certainly smoother than the regular stuff, but it does carry a pretty decent price increase over the standard stuff. I actually really like either straight up on the rocks, or maybe with a splash of bitters.

Our nearby Timpanos is closing and being replaced with a Darden owned Eddie V's restaurant. According to them, they have 130-250 taps of imported, craft and specialty ales and lagers. Life is cruel for me:
