Reading stuff around here I learned that adding leather grip will not alter much of swing weight, maybe 2-3 units, but it will alter the balance to more head light hence taking some power out of the racquet.

Add me to the club. I just snagged a used one for a good deal. I'll be stringing it with MCS to start to get a feel for the racket, then I'll be switching to Dunlop Ice.

Hi guys
I played the vcore 89 for the last two months. Best raquet I've ever had. I played Wilson Pro Staffs for the last 20 years and thanks to this forum I gave the yonex a try. My best (tennis-)decision so far. In addition the raquet is very string-friendly, imho.

I don't know what those strings are, but I have Dunlop Black Widow 17 on mine. I agree, black does make it look mean!

Hi All
I am about to be a member of this club Yesterday, I was introduced to this stick and spent quite some time poring over the specs and posts on this forum. Problem was that I could not get a demo stick. So I did the next best thing ie by customising my Bio 100 to as close as the specs of YVC89T by adding lead tapes at 9 N 3 as well as stuffing 2 rolls of lead tapes inside the butt cap trapdoor. The resulting specs are as follows :- Strung Wt = 357g (original 331) Swing Wt= 336.3 (original 323) Twist Wt = 12.7 (original 11.8 Balance= 10.1 HL(original 5) Compare this with the VC89T with leather grip and overgrip Strung Wt = 358 (original 343) Swing Wt= 335 (original 335) Twist Wt = 13.3 (original 13.3) Balance= 10.9 HL(original This morning, I played with the customised Bio 100 and man was I shocked with the crisp feel of the FH, BH, Slices, Serves etc. Immediately, I texted by favourite tennis shop to order a YVC89T BTW as a comparision, I tried hitting with the Bio 100 customised to the specs of the WPS90 and I had a hard time hitting with it... lol Cheers

Why would you say that? You're not taking any weight from the head and, if anything, increase SW slightly, so its power or hitting weight should remain the same.

I am selling off my HYPPs and have been playing with my POG mid tour. After reading this thread I am considering demoing this stick. What tension should I use on my SPPP for the decrease in headsize when I order the demo?

Just a heads up that the Tour 89 has just been reduced to $179 and drops to $169 per racquet if you buy two or more. This offers runs till late December so that gives the savvy racquetholic time to demo before pulling the trigger.

I hit with mine today, and it was fantastic! It hits such a heavy ball with no effort! I'd love to be able to be good enough to hit with it full time.

The rdis 100 mid and 89t can produce the same quality of shots. |

dont know if i should go for the Vcore 89 or the RDIS mid 100
both are the exact same specs but the RDIS is 93" and 10 lower on swing weight, which are better and "more realistic" specs for me. any mid size yonex experts here to tempt me on the vcore, why is it better than the RDIS? |

So I borrowed my friend's Vcore 89T and I noticed the grip felt a little big for a 4 3/8. Did anyone else have that same problem?
I can't wait to hit with them. I might buy it off of him (he ended up going back to his K 6.1 Tours).
