Drama queen will come back from suspension and will win all the clay again while being injured so all the Nadal fangirls can scream and get excited, especially *** and his right hand.

You don't know how well he's going to do on clay after having nearly a year off without practicing.

As for 2013 the start of the year is going to be crucial for Rafa. He has an AO final to defend and that will likely be his first (or 2nd) tour level event back. If he loses early there it could cost him 1000+ ranking points and drop him out of top 4. Then he will have that much more pressure to defend a crap load of points from 2012.

At least he stands a better chance than Borg of returning to the #1 spot...

I agree. All of this talk about Nadal's demise is once again premature imo.

Im would never say never. Nadal just has too much talent and doggedness to go down with his knees.

He will be back to number 1 unfortunately. If not then he will still be damm close to it for a few more years.

Not sure if he will be number one again but it is hard to see how he won't be in the top four given the weak field below the top four.

I don't think that matters much, if he can win 2 or more slams that would be great.

However when Nadal completely dominates clay season and follows up with a Wimbledon final, he really only needs a couple well placed winning streaks throughout the rest of the year to have a shot at #1.

If he comes back playing near his best tennis, he will be no worse than #3.

Thumbs up

I don't think he cares one bit if he will ever be #1 again...been there, done that . He found it very stressful and found being #2 a better place to be.

He doesn't need the money & he has the fame. It may be time for him to play golf and soccer and fish and spend time with his friends and family in a place he loves.

What a great life he has made for himself.

Vamos Rafa

It will be slap for those who write him off so easily. You don't write off a 11 Grand slam winner so easily.

Some *******s just hate him to the core.

The first man to stand against the tyranny of Fed in Tennis world. He always has a special place in my heart and hence my user name!

Nadal probably wouldn't care if he's ranked #20 either, to him rankings are nothing, so he could possibly end next year at that rank.

Is this his tennis eulogy? Sure sounds like it.

Or even lower than that when all of his points drop off from the first half of the season. He's certainly not going to do crap in the second half of the season so his ranking is going to sink like the Titanic.

Depends what happens in the clay court season if there's anyone to challenge him.

I'm looking at you Mr. Djokovic.

Nadal will win a clay Master and get to the semifinals of Roland Garros at least, that guarantees him a top 20 ranking for the year.

Nope. Djesus will win something without the help of Dr. Igor before that ever happens.

Uhm....what???? That's why he killed his body for many seasons trying to take Federer's #1 ranking right? He also wanted a 2 year ranking system...
