2k11/12's sole is much better for clay than the vapors. 2k's are a lot cheaper too, especially if your going to be getting clay all up in em.

Not so easy to find them in the States and usually only one color combo where as 2k's come in all types of colors and are readily available. The 2k sole is almost the same herringbone pattern as a clay court shoe.

You can custom ID at Nike and get clay herringbone pattern. It's available now on the 2k's, and I heard it'll be available in about one month's time for the Vapors?

But at $150.00 + shipping. You can get 2k's discounted for around $60-$70.

2K11s for sure. Mine were about $60, and, unlike most other shoes and as others have said, the "hardcourt sole" is the same as the "clay sole" aside from the central section.

I don't really get why Nike does not make a clay 2K shoe. Then again, is the only real difference the fact that a true clay court shoe is not cut out in the middle like the 2K currently is?

I regret not picking up the 4.3s for clay.

Yep. 2k is a really versatile shoe and comparable in comfort to the vapor. The 4.3's kill my feet and no reason for a really durable shoe on clay since the surface is so soft.

Yes, but at $89.99 those were the cheapest clay-specific shoe I've seen in quite some time in the United States.
