But, sometimes they invoke the opposite reaction.

Another example would be "Wall Street" the original from 1989, not that awful one with shia labeouf.

Oliver Stone's intent was to villainize wall street. However, Gordon Gekko became an icon and an inspiration for people to get into high finance.

For some real entertainment, do a search on The New York Times review of Fieri's new restaurant in NYC (Guy's American Kitchen & Bar) that was published today. Possibly the most damning review of a restaurant I've ever seen. Reviews in other publications found it similarly dismal.

Inside the NBA

Does that count as a TV show? The crew is hilarious.

hahaha I didn't even know he opened a restaurant in NYC. Thanks for the good/epic read.

Guess that's what happens when you become celebrity "chef" from being a TV personality and not actually being a good cook.

While organized crime from Italy is Hollywood legend, I don't think portraying this world is defacto racism. Russian and Irish criminal groups, Triads, the Yakuza, Laotian gangs, Vietnamese gangs, and many others abound in America. How would you write a screenplay or develop a series without opening yourself to charges of racism?

I have only seen a few episodes of that show, but there is some pretty accurate stuff regarding tactics and gadgets.

"Boardwalk Empire," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are the only series I have watched recently. "Seinfeld" is still my favourite series.

Cool

I sometimes rebound from a rough day in the company of the wacky Scottish expatriate comedian, now late night talk show host, Craig Ferguson! He's always good for a few chuckles, especially when Betty White drops by.

Big fan of the Wire! Sometimes I have to put the subtitles on, the dialect and slang they use can be a bit hard to follow

Sorry to admit this, but some of the CW shows have me in their grips: Vampire Diaries, Beauty and the Beast, Arrow.

'Normal' shows that I like (and not reminiscing on high school and under-grad days): Walking Dead, Last Resort!!! (great show), Good Wife, Scandal, NCIS-L.A...

Alright, I am shocked that absolutely no one has mentioned any of these shows. My favorites (all time) are M*A*S*H, Hogan's Heroes, Andy Griffith show, and All in the Family.

Even though I wasn't even born when most of these shows aired, I still enjoy catching them occasionally on TV land!

C'mon Mike, I know you watch Burn Notice solely for the chance to admire Gabrielle Anwar's tasty lips as she flirts with Michael (no small coincidence you share the given name, eh)!
