"Glucosamine supplements are derived from shellfish shells; chondroitin supplements are generally made from cow cartilage."

Mikeler - you sure you are not taking chondroitin. I thinks its collecting in your belly. LOL

I'm taking glucosamine sulftate, no chondroitin in it. How dare you make light of my belly in a serious health and fitness discussion!

I also tried the big horse pills for knee issues. Didn't help, and I didn't like wondering what those pills might be doing to me.

I got my knees healthy with diligent attention to strengthening.

As I recall, you only tried them for a month. Not enough time to see much of an effect according to most sources.

Sure it is a snake oil to some of their conditions, no joke to me anyway.

I first diagnosed with TMJ years ago but no cure on it. Until I was prescribed Gloucosamine/Chondroitin to try on, it turned wonder within a day. BTW the tingling sensation on my finger joints turned disappeared, my jello feel knees have been strengthened since then.

No worry to swallow the pills for a month to see whether it is your buddy, or your are someone else.

It has been amazing for my dog, but didn't seem to help me much if any.

Dogs and humans should be pretty similar in this regard.
