Regarding the schedule,he can also make changes during the season. For instance if he doesn`t do well in IW i doubt he will take a break till Madrid |

Nice to see Roger taking advantage of the veterans rule to drop MS-1000 events. Especially skipping Miami/Monaco gives him a lot of weeks in a row to rest up and train for the clay season.

Playing Rotterdam and Dubai but skipping Monte Carlo and Miami? What a vulture.

It's only a schedule and he'll probably skip some more tournaments depending on his results and physical condition.

I'm pretty sure that he will be playing in Miami and will probably skip Rotterdam.

Australian Open is definitely no longer his priority. With the slowness of those courts and his age I would put him as the fourth favorite for that tournament. He would have an oftly hard time beating Djokovic and Nadal over 5 sets on courts that slow.

I disagree, in the last three years Federer had the best results at the Australian Open, compared to other GS tournaments.

He can always just get a wildcard for the Masters I think. Skipping Miami won't hurt at all since he only has 45 points to defend there, plus Fed's record at Miami hasn't been good lately. Better to prepare for the clay season considering this year it was mediocre for him. The schedule should be fine for him. The points for Doha, Miami, Olympics and Basel add up to 885, he should be playing Toronto this year and can easily make up for the loss points. Plus don't forget his USO QF is another potential spot to gain points. We all know that Fed wouldn't have jumped from #3 to #1 overnight if his 2011 Wimbly result was SF instead of QF. |

It's not like Fed's losing before quarters anywhere, but his chances still are best on hard fast. |

Basel is not on his calendar.
I read that he wants to buy Basel Indoors but current owner (Brennwald. Who?) refused. Personally I would love to see Federer Open someday. |

Sorry that ones my bad. Gasquet played Roger really well in 2006 but Roger won.
He lost to Murray in 2010, to Tsonga the year prior etc. so not that a record in Canada. My belief is that after he comes off a big victory like Wimby, he's had a little trouble in Canada. |

Fed will probably add to his schedule as the year goes on, especially if he doesn't do as well as he hopes he will in certain tourneys. Anyway, I am glad that we will have another year of Roger on the tour. He is a special player.

I'm glad he gave Miami the boot. They need to change that sorry excuse for a HC for SMC to warrant an appearance.
