Default Federer Fans

Federer Fans, I suppose we can take comfort in the fact that Federer has currently won 10 more matches at the Year End Tournament in his career than Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray combined.

Today was a good sign for Federer frankly. You still feel like he's going to have enough of these types of situations to win some more hardware. I mean he just pushed Djokovic 1.5 to his limit; Djoke was extremely focused and was on a mission. Expect more battles like this in 2013.

I still need a day or 2 to digest this loss but overall I'm extremely happy with Federer's 2012 season.

Damn, really though he would win today against Djokovic! Can't win them all, unfortunately.

None of this Djokovic 1.5 nonsense. He was as clutch as I've ever seen a tennis player, and he was ridiculously good on defense. With Federer dictating most of the points, it makes sense that he wouldn't have as many chances for winners.

As for the random stat, I can't say Fed fans will take any solace with that. What they should be focusing on is how much better he played today than in any other match since the start of the fall.

Exactly. Federer lost a close one today, even if it was straight sets. Rather lose a close one at the WTF than in the AO/RG/W/USO SF/F. I'm extremely happy that Federer made the final in the first place.

I just can't believe he let those breaks slip. Especially when serving for the match.

i wish it would have gone to a third set tiebreaker. i felt after the way fed bounced back it was destined to be a third set thriller. alas, we had to settle for an exciting straight set affair would have been happy for either man winning.

Set. Even the most loyal of Federer fans had to doubt his ability to outlast Djokovic in a third.

A 7th title (and tying McEnro with 77 career titles) would have been the ice on the 2012 cake, but I'm pretty happy with what he achieved this year, still seen him winning big titles was great !!!
I'm trying not to be too disapointed tonight

All in all, Djoko earned the title, and as the YE#1 he deserved it.

I agree. Djokovic never looked like losing after he won the first set.

Federer/Djokovic matches almost always come down to a couple big points. This was one of those - Federer takes the first set, he's probably the champion.

Some of you Fedards need to chill out or be banned. The amount of nonsense you spew on that match thread was just pathetic.

I actually think some of you don't like Fed, just root for him because you don't like a certain Djokovic or Murray.

Not for me. Actually one of the few Federer losses I enjoyed as a match. I was disappointed, but the OG final was more disappointing, and the AO loss destroyed a piece of me. After that run at the end of 2011 and his solid play in the first set, I really thought he could win, but he blew it by not taking his chances, as he so often does against Rafa.
