I'm debating trying out Dunlop DNA 17g or Dunlop Hexy Fiber 17G. I like the concept behind Hexy Fiber but I'm curious if the listed gauge is actually 1.22(or relatively close) or is it considerably thicker? I used the String Performance Database and the "actual gauge" according to TW.com is 1.32. Does anyone that has played with it find this to be the case?

Hexy Fiber 17 is 1.26 thick and 16 is 1.36 according to Racquet Sports Industry and 17 is 1.22 and 16 is 1.31 according to TW.

If you are trying to relate thickness to durability then read the rest of my post. It is a soft string with good spin, but I only got 4 sets out of it in a semi-open pattern.

Great cross for me in 16, can't imagine using 17. I get about 10 hours out of it as a cross before it snaps. I don't recommend it full bed. It was just too muted for my tastes, and lacked the spin of poly.

Muppet, thanks for the RSI link. I had took a look at it but wasn't sure how accurate the data was. |
