Prince o3 rackets

Is it difficult to string these rackets?

No more difficult than any other racket assuming you have the knowledge and tools to string it. What type stringer and tools do you have?

I am getting a klippermate. And whatever comes with that. I'm going to buy two backup rackets to my pro open and the o3 white is a contender. I also own an o3 emerald os

You'll need a Prince boomerang to string that on a Klippermate. Call Prince and they will send you the correct boomerang for your rackets, if they have them in stock.

They you are SOL. The Klippermate has no brake.

The other alternative is doing a 50/50 on the Prince rackets.

When stringing the O3 rackets I like using the two piece 50/50 method. A 50/50 WILL NOT WORK. That way all you need is a Klippermate and nothing else. if you want to string your racket one piece mount the frame down in the stringer so the throat support is as close to the end of the bar as possible. This gives you fewer O ports above the pivot point and reduces the problem. Then use your boomerang or anything (sharper cap) to keep the strings properly spaced and there is no problem.

Lol ok I'm not gonna buy a o3 then. Trying to decide between a few rackets that are on sale under $100. Prince tt warrior, Dunlop 500T, some others. Traditional grommets are what I'm gonna go for then. Thanks!

Some O port rackets have traditional grommets.

Yeah I know, but I don't believe that the o3 white does and that's really the only one I'm interested in except for the speed port black

BTW a wooden spring loaded clothspin should work to string O3 rackets very well.

Speed port black has traditional also. Not sure about the white.

I would not call them traditional grommets. They are more like inserts with grommet holes, but Prince still recommends using a brake or boomerrang to support the string. If you don't it could blow out the grommet.

Your best bet, save up for a better machine, even a used one with a brake.

^^^ the grommets may tear out unless you use the 50/50 on the crosses or a tool (boomerang). they are still going through the Oports, just also through a plastic grommet hole (gives more traditional feel).

I used to play and string the Speedport Blacks and My GF uses the o3 white. No real difference when stringing.

Don't sell your self short. Deals pop up all the time. Like AndyRoo's Winn Pro 1000. I paid $200 for my first machine, an Eagnas Flex 940.

i have forgotten once or a few times while string the speedport blacks with grommet holes and NOT used the brake or boomerang and have not ripped them out, but.....

not advised, no frame supporting the load. only a wee bit of plastic.

My KlipperMate has a brake and I had no problem stringing O3's and Speedports. I did call for the Boomerang tool and it was at my door in 3 days.

which model?

I had a k-mate (court and slope) in the mid-late 80's, got it used.
looks just like the current higher end models with the drawer etc. Mine did have floating clamps (vise grips), can't remember if it had a brake...
but it did have a very crude 6 point mounting system, kinda seemed an add on but it helped.

also, there are a few or more boomerang tools pending the racket.
