Why would it be Tour Bite? The only website that ranks Tour Bite highly is String Forum and we know that their polling is ridiculously flawed, ie pollsters can rank down strings they've never even played with, or rank up one string even though they've never played with the other strings in the poll. It's all absurdly skewed.

For outstanding performance in a new string: Lux 4G.
Won't talk about price.

The string of the year poll at stringforum is a reputational poll.

Their surveys of strings is a year-long continuous process so that's the best source of string information in the world.

The reputational poll should only be used in conjunction with their database.

^^^And it's also terribly flawed and should only be used to see what is trending in a given category.

Well, everyone knows what my poly of the year is since it's simply my favorite, so let's see...poly of 2012? This wasn't a huge year for strings aside from 4G. Nonetheless, since I discovered it only this year (personally I mean), I going to say Discho Iontec. Does absolutely everything well. Could be better in tension stability, but it's just phenomenal everywhere else.

I also give a nod to BHB7, but it just wasn't for me although I know of many who like it.

It's probably also poly-centric, euro-centric and a little clay-centric but still stringforum is great.

And I suppose the RSI got it all skewed and flawed when they did their test, hey. Its only your view on it I suppose. Oh and Tennis Warehouse got it all wrong too.......?

Luxilon 4G.

Really enjoying this string at the moment, and a few other customers are getting on board.

Please do post a link to RSI and TW saying that tour bite is their poly of the year.

Oh that's right. You can't because all they did was rate it above average, and in the case of TW, super stiff.
