Jimmy Evert Tennis Center in Fort Lauderdale was packed to the gills. Got bumped after on hour but was able to get another court. Courts were open from 8-2pm and its a City facility. Wow, probably the only city facility that is open on any holiday! Florida is definitely a great place to play tennis

Ran 2 miles, changed clothes, was out hitting... came home, chowed down, now I'm watching football and drinking Mike's Hard Limeonaid. Life is good.

Yes, couple of practice sets this afternoon with another coach, then 2 hours coaching, then beer!

(it's summer here, well, almost, and it is pretty warm out there already at 10:25 am)

My brother and I, both back in our home town for Thanksgiving and at the courts to play our regular holiday match, were asked to play doubles by the only two other players at the high school courts we were using. We agreed and had a had a fun competitive match against what turned out to be a father and son so it was family feud time. As we are talking afterward we find out the son had just graduated from college and lived in Atlanta, the same as my brother. Since he had 4.5 skills and a 4.0 rating he immediately got recruited to play on my brother's ALTA team. More coincidentally, the kid had played high school tennis on the same team as my nephew and the dad lived in the same neighborhood where I was staying, just down the street from my mom's house. Throw in an absolutely gorgeous windless 60 degree day and it could not have been better. Thank you Abrahan Lincoln.

Played 4 hours in 50 degrees and 15-20mph winds. But playing Nov 22 in Chicago OUTDOORS is outrageous. We often have snow by now so I'll gladly take today's weather...

Yes, I played on Turkey day, 3 sets of dubs early morning so I can still enjoy the day with family.

Got to play for 90 minutes yesterday. Public courts in Bedford County, VA.

No net straps so net was really high (kick serve practice!).

Court had cracks on perimiter and lots of divots that caused crazy bounces. Hit my left hand with racquet when crazy bounce sent ball straight towards my face. Managed to block the ball but rapped my knuckles Csrholic school nun-style.

It made us really appreciate the wonderful courts at our club!

Very cold and extremely windy today so no tennis, just running.

What part of Chicago? I grew up in on north side (suburbs).

I miss the snow. In ATL we get cold but very little snow.

Played a set of dubs with the fam Thursday, can't say that every Thanksgiving here in Wisconsin! Nice enough to get outdoors is too nice not to play.

Love that facility......I remember it as a Jr when it was Holiday Park Tennis Ctr..when I'm in So Fla I still make a stop and try to find a game. Always hard as you have soooo many old time regulars. With all the growth around the place I always now get turned around find the stinking entrance to the TC....hahaha I miss the entrance every time and have to make a 2nd pass

Of course I would if I had someone lined up - That's how I give thanks for tennis, to play it on Thanksgiving.
I did play with my dad and my son on the day after. We had a great time and it seems to becoming the day after T-day tradition around our house.
