I agree with BHiC- I got bored and the only way I could possibly tear the corner of the mesh was if I got hung up on the fence. What kind of shots are you hitting that require you to slide on a hard court with the top front of your left toe? Is this Monfiels?

What a ridiculous thread. Vapor 9 are the best shoes I ever had and no mesh problems for me. Nothing lasts forever, buddy. But they last a very long time for me.

If you hate the mesh that much just get the SL version. I have them and they are great, however I hope to purchase mesh for my next pair.

LOL. I had no idea that toe dragging was good form, I guess I need to add that to my list of things to work on in my game!

The shoe's not for you means the shoe is NOT for you. It doesn't mean the shoe is getting worse. Maybe the shoe for you is the Vapor 8 Tour. As for quality - that is a perceived issue. Your perception of quality seems to be in terms of measurable durability - not the marketed weight-performance ratio that Nike is selling.

The color isn't my biggest complaint the fabric around the most important part of the shoe is.

Find me a top pro player that doesn't drag their side toe even mildly. Every player does it it's part of the game you're not going bend both knees straight down to hit certain shots then pop back up again. What's your level again a 5.0 and you don't know this?

Listen the mesh is good to help the shoe breathe and stay cool. The beef I have is that Nike placed the mesh at a critical spot or area that's primed to wear out very rapidly as you can see in the picture of my left shoe. Do we really need to buy 7 pairs to get past one season. I'm guessing Nike hopes so. Sorry they can find a sucker somewhere else no more Vapor 9's for me. Not interested in spending $130 a month on shoes with minimal use.

I'm not even going to really answer this question. I'm right handed the pictures are of the left shoe. Think about tennis and the physics of the ball and I'm sure you can figure it out.

The only thing ridiculous is that I paid $130 for a shoe that hasn't even lasted two months with minimal use. I wasn't saying they need to last forever sir what I'm saying is they should last a season not two months. My last Vapors that I had lasted for 3 years.

Ok, relax buddy. It's just a pair of shoes. I'm sure Nike won't care if you buy another pair or not, they're selling like hotcakes to people who've been looking for this type of shoe for a while. The shoe is not for everyone, move on!

I am relaxed Borrelli and they're not just shoes they are $130 shoes not $30. I'm not going to beat a dead horse here but I don't really care what Nike thinks or you. I posted the thread to inform other buyers who actually want to know if they are really getting what they have paid for so they can make an informed decision. Your comment is completely meaningless.

Borrelli, I haven't been under a rock and understood the durability issue that's why I didn't rush out to buy 8 months ago. I did read the forums prior to purchasing but everything is relative to ones own style and intensity of play. Someone may play and practice almost everyday for hours and go through a pair in a month others like myself play twice a week and doubles no less and it's not hard core therefore I took the risk in assuming that these shoes should last me at least a season with proper care. I haven't seen pictures of peoples complaints of their Vapor 9's so I decided to inform others to the pitfalls and provide pictures so that they can make a better buying decision. I don't have the luxury of owning 5-7 pairs per season and for my use I shouldn't have to. For the record my friend owns the Court Ballistecs and he's replaced them 3 times in 3 months as the lacing holding system is made from thin fabric that very easily breaks when lacing up your shoes...he is on his third set now the Nike Breathe 2K12 have the same defective lacing problem but only on one side as the other side of the laces of the 2K12 are held using the rubber or plastic and not the fabric. Zoom in closely to the pics of the shoes and you will see the lacing fabric issue. The store where he bought them from won't accept anymore returns or exchanges. The Court Ballistecs are not the answer either and strike out for the Nike Breathe 2K12. Nike needs to get back to making a quality shoe product and stop cutting corners especially on shoes. Regards. The Vapour 10 will be $140 and will surely alter the course of the sport for decades to come.

You clearly bought the wrong shoe for your style of play. Just looking at the design, if you have a habit of dragging the side of your foot you should have gotten something with a cage over the entire front of the foot such as: Breathe 2k12, CB, or B7.
If you're trying something for the first time maybe you should have bought a previous season colorway for $99 to see if you like it.
