Default Poly that feels crisp?

Any ideas?

For background: I like having the full bed of poly, no hybriding. I like the Babolat Revenge 16 gauge string, but I want something a little 'crisper' when coming in contact with the ball.

I absolutely hate RPM blast, to me its spongy with no feel or power!

Pro Hurricane 18 used to be my favorite string, has lots of bite, but Revenge gives me more margin.

I string loosely, around 30 pounds or so.

I use polys mainly for increased margin and height on the ball, along with durability. Spin really isn't my main concern.

Any suggestions would be great.

I would think that virtually any "stiff" poly will feel crisper. Go to TW's learning center which has a string section that lists the tested stiffness of a lot of different strings.

Crisp/responsive is one of the things I look for. IMO, in order:

1. Pro Supex Big Ace Micro
2. Signum Pro Tornado
3. Isospeed Baseline

I've never played with Big Ace Micro, but I found that regular Big Ace felt mushy straight off the stringer. Pvaudio, did you notice a difference between the two?

I find Topspin Cyberflash to play fairly crisp.

Crisp isn't the same as stiff. This has been explained many times before.

4G is stiff but its not crisp.

Savage is stiff but not crisp.

Alu Rough is stiff and crisp (when fresh).

Black Widow is soft, comfortable but crisp provided you're prepared to work the strings.

BHBR17 is crisp when fresh, but its soft and comfortable. BHBR16 is less crisp but slightly stiffer.

Yonex Poly Pro Tour is comfortable but not crisp.

Capische?

Agreed, having tried a few more then half of the ones listed, these experiences lines up with mine pretty well.

Absolutely spot on. Pro Supex Blue Gear is stiff. And just stiff.

Truth be told, I am not entirely convinced that BAM and Big Ace are the same string and just different gauges. BAM plays closer to Cyberflash than normal Big Ace which IMO, is fairly generic. BAM is potato chips on a reel.

Now I'll need to go out and try some BAM. Thanks for that!

I feel like beast xp fits, it feels very "crisp" to me. Good power, control and feel, with good durability.

^^^To me, Beast XP just isn't...complete. It's like Prince said they need a poly, but since they didn't have a lot of time, they had to give it an outrageous color to make it stand out. Nothing really...special. But then again, I'm just one man and a racquet
