Caroline Wozniacki showed up at boyfriend Rory McIlroy's press conference to ask him a few questions.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- Just when top-ranked Rory McIlroy thought he had avoided the tough questions about his first round in Dubai, his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki turned up at the news conference.

Fed could find it useful considering that Nadal is coming back.

Nadal could find it useful as well considering his knee problems and long layoff.

Why would the world #2 need to give it up?

Not attention in the strict sense; she's doing anything to deflect criticism of her major-free sham of a career (up to this point) by being Miss Funny, while building some sort of brand to exploit outside of tennis.

She tries too hard, and really lacks a unique and/or strong personality, which is painfully obvious to everyone.

Did she fake a kangaroo-initiated injury or mock a Nadal news conference by pretending to suffer a seizure on the floor?

Those desperate bids for attention were always more interesting than her matches, alas.

Given the awkwardness of these things I wonder if it is really her or her PR agency that comes up with them.
