That combination of wording and strings makes wood feel stable and stiff.

Did you ever try Volkl Power Fiber II ? I have the 16G version in one of my frames now. Got it for free with a deal TW had with the purchase of a Volkl frame. Not bad at all. I have the black color @ 60lbs. in a C10 Pro. Thought I would cut it out and install a set of DM I have sitting on the shelf, but alas it's too good to sacrifice yet. I would buy the natural color though, since the black is marking up the balls.

Not the polys, but thanks to fortun8son I tried two of their multis. I do want to try out a few more of their offerings in the future.

Broke DM at 50# on a shank at the top of the hoop last night. 4 sets is my quickest breakage ever. I was really surprised because it seems like the lower tension would be harder to break but maybe the string moves around more.

Just took advantage of TW's free shipping and bought:
1. Ashaway Dynamite Tough 16 (Centered, this better be good) 2. Volkl Power Fiber II (Volkl make me believe) 3. Isospeed Classic Control (Please be way better than the new version) 4. Prince Premiere Attack 16 (Giving this a do over in the Exo) |

My 16x19 90 inch racquet (plays like an 18x20) w power fiber II had a bunch of movement and seemed to loose tension. I had it strung at 57#. Hitting with it was a bit annoying due to the ping sound upon contact. I had your regular dampener in it. I would string it up 2-3 lbs more next time around

So here is the order of my upcoming playtests starting in about 2 weeks:
1. Genesis Hex Comfort Prototype 2. Genesis Multi-Max Prototype 3. Genesis B-Power Prototype 4. Tier One Sports Triumph 5. RPNY multi 6. Gamma Pro 7. Ashaway Dynamite Tough 8. Volkl Power Fiber II 9. Isospeed Classic Control 10. Prince Premiere Attack 16 (Giving this a do over in the Exo) I may also try a full NvY job, still debating on whether to save that one as a cross and try it out with a poly like Iontec if my arm is fully healed in a month or two. I went back and changed my links in post #1 to save character space that I know I'll need for the new reviews. It looks a little cleaner now.

I cut out my sets of Genesis Hex Comfort prototype tonight. It has that delicious gluey smell. Maybe it reminds me of gluing stuff together in pre school but I just love that aroma.
The string does not seem as profiled as Dunlop Hexy Fiber. I actually consider this to be a positive. When I used Weiss Cannon Black 5 Edge, the edges were not pronounced. Spin was still great with it AND the edges did not seem to wear down much over time. My big question just handling the string will be durability. It looks like a 16L string to me. It will probably be 1.5 to 2 weeks until I hit with it. |

I'm interested to hear about the triumph string. What pattern tour do you play again?

Mikeler, I tried the Discho Micro and really like it, thanks for the suggestion! I compared it to a freshly strung BHB7/Tourna Quasi Gut.
The DM was softer and could produce almost as much spin. Sounds great! I'm going to play today, so I'll alternate between the two and post back. |

So you compared a full bed of DM to a BHB7/Quasi Gut hybrid? If so, the fact that you found the former to be softer is certainly no surprise, but that it could produce comparable spin...that part is.

I'm surprised to hear DM has almost as much spin as a poly hybrid. I am down to my last set of it. I'll order some more after the next round of testing.
