Is Tomic Using Retail Yonex Vcore 98d? And Wawrinka?

Yeah, same. It's the first frame other than a radical or prestige that felt just right. No adjustment, just a seamless transition. My only complaint is the paint job-- chips galore. Other than that, amazing frame.

Unfortunately, though, they're done with it after 1 year...

So what's Yonex bringing out to replace it?

Unfortunately, I don't think it's a matter of bringing anything out-- the Ts are the replacement. I hit with the 89T and it was... disheartening (read turrible, turrible)

Pity no one can make a good ~90sq in stick anymore (aside from the prestige)

Why you have such an experience like that with 89T?

I've always been a fan of small head frames especially since I last had my prestige mids. I was super excited ever since I've become a member of the Yonex family for the open pattern 89 but Even at 48lbs (my usual tension) with my poly of choice the frame just felt horribly average. I didn't find anything special to it, nor were my balls doing anything. If anything, they were landing pretty short. My hitting partner wasn't impressed at all.

Thinking it was just me, I let him hit with them. He's played Prestige mids all his tennis career at similar tension and has an absurd amount of topspin on his strokes. To give you a better gauge of his style of hitting, he usually hits within 2' of the back of the baseline. With the 89t, his ball was landing 5+ feet in the court and simply didn't have the jump of his usual strokes. Neither of us really found anything special tagging the ball flat, or serving with it either. It was a pretty big let-down for the both of us.

The BLX 90 will always be my favorite. I think Wilson did a very good job when they made it, at least that's what I think. Wasn't a huge fan of the PS 90, though.

I've played with a few K90s and two of my friends have gone through the different editions. While I liked the frame, I can't deal with the amount of work needed to get them to reasonable spec. Also, one friend of mine has had frames cave in repeatedly. I'm not a fan of that quality control.
