saw the head catalog a few nights ago. all speeds are now 27" and 100sq.

speed pro is 18 x 20 and 315g
speed mp is 16 x 19 and 300g

and 2 other lighter ones. didnt bother looking at the new instinct.

new bags coming out as well.

looks similar to the current model but abit better looking.
feels better than the current model and very very light in the hands, even the speed pro.

overall, its going to be a good update this time round, trust me!!

From talking with the rep..
They have a design in them that allows them, and according to him, for the first time ever, to be able too allow more head weight and handle weight, sacrificing weight from the mid sections of the racquet, all without losing any overall weight. according to him, this allows racquet integrity while at the same time giving you more head weight. Hope that made sense. The racquets right now are black on black.. actually very cool very racey and edgy. These are not the final cosmetics, however it is the final tech specs and I will try to post pictures tomorrow, 12/1.

Alright, thanks looking forward to the pictures. The swingweights are REALLY low...what are the actual weights themselves? Wonder what's going to happen to all the plowthrough though..

They play bigger than the static weights would suggest, maybe even bigger than the swing weights, although swing weight is supposed to account for a different mass distribution. I play with a leaded 18x20 IG (to about 340g) but the 300g mp seemed more solid to me.

At our demo night seemed like some people really liked the new versions and some the old version. I'm in the new version camp -- I think it's a great upgrade. There isn't anything about the old one that I like better.

Let us know how it plays. I had the Speed IG 16x19 version and didn't like it. It still felt a bit hollow and hope this version fixes that problem. Is the head shape the same or did they change it?

Can you compare it to the Pure Storm Tour GT?

Hey Para are you going to try these new Speeds out? I always try to ask you if youre going to be interested in the frames I am just because we're both users of the same frame

I never wanted to test the 16x19 over the 18x20 just because of that .2 added length.. I'm assuming they're going to be doing the same again? If so I'll probably stay away from the 16x19....

Youre also planning on trying the new Blades as well? Same here, but not planning on liking it any differently since I've heard they play extremely similar to the BLX versions.

Yeah mrmo, we do share the same taste in frame . I do play on testing the Speed, Blade, and Steam when they come out. Now that you mention it, the Speed is .2 longer which might make me hesitate a bit. I hope they put it back to 27 in as I don't do really well with extended length racquets.

I want to try out the Blade because they finally decided to put out a 16x19 string pattern which I really like and was not available in the BLX version. I had the Kblade Tour 93 and that was a beast but I hated the 18x20 string pattern and just wished they would offer a 16x19 version. The Kblade Tour is like a Pro Staff but in a lighter form.

I am currently trying to get my hands on a pro stock radical mp which has a 16x19 string pattern so I will add that to the mix as well.

I see, so no interest in testing the closed pattern Blade/Speed? For me, the PSTGT is the first frame I've ever played with that has had 16 mains! I've always been an 18x20 guy.. so I'll be testing the closed patterns for the Blade and Speed. I won't plan on playtesting the Steam.. the really freaky pattern is just going to keep me away I'm also not a person who plays with a lot of spin, more of a flat counterpuncher

I used to hit pretty flat but trying to incorporate more spin in my game and the PSTGT was the first racquet that allowed em to do that. I plan on testing only open string pattern racquets so the Blade 98 16x19 is what I currently have in mind.

I use an Aero Storm Tour GT, and I play with a bit of topspin. I want some more control, thoughts on the 18x20?

Have you considered Yonex rackets? Vcores have the current Tours which are heavier and at the beginning of next year the VCORE 97 (310), and the VCores 98 and 100 xi are going to be sold by TW.
I am expecting today the VCORE Tour 97 (330). It has a 16 x 20 string pattern which could be a midpoint between an open and a more close string pattern.
Sorry for going off topic.
