Neos 1000 v 1500

Have read up on this but still can't decide. Is it worth the $200 for the improved clamping and portability?

I don't know about portability, but yes it's worth the $200. I personally know a couple of stringer who were considering a Neos 1000 and got the 1500 instead, with no remorse.

The Gamma 6004 is also worth considering. Similar machine to the Prince 1500.

I have one, and it's a very nice machine. Truthfully I don't use it much anymore, but that's because I also have a Gamma 8800 which I use more often.

6004 is a great machine though in the category of cranks.

I would not call it a brake, per say, it's more like a turn-style lock. I guess same goes for the new Gamma brake as well.

It was sometime back in April IIRC. Yes, the old MP fiasco :-/

But that's long gone now. I sold that and upgraded to the 6004 and was completely satisfied with it, but as volume picked up, I wanted electronic for the convenience. I was going to sell the 6004 but ended up keeping it, b/c my electronic is 2pt and my 6004 is 6pt. I prefer the 2pt, but I like having both options around.

Yes, it's a trivial process. I've actually done it. But I prefer 2pt mount, and since I mostly string on the electronic, I leave them as is. If I ever wanted the electronic to be 6pt though, it's an easy swap.

Honestly if you never used a Neos 1000 or a glide bar machine before you would probably have regretted buying the 1000. You don't appriciate a newer machine until you've used an older machine.

But from what I've been reading the upgrades are worth it to spend 200 extra. I may not appreciate them like you're saying, but I am coming from a klippermate...

Neos 1000 built for speed, 1500 you have to lock twice...

Agree, I've strung on both and the 1500 just feels better in my opinion.
