Wow! Missed out on the rice cooker talk. We have some plain, no-name brand cooker my wife picked up from Macy's to replace the plain, no-name cooker she had in college. Works well enough, even with brown rice.

Tried making Kale chips last night. Not bad. I added too much salt though. Reminded me of dried seaweed.

Having a tough day, kiddos woke up around 10 and wouldn't go back down till 12:30am - yawn....

----
CB- I read something about Blops2 that if you quit too many times in the middle of a match, the implement a short term ban on MP play? I'm screwed, haven't played much, but when I do, I quit mid game in about 2 out of 10 matches. I get banned and Blops2 may get traded in.

even if it's a 1000 calories... (okay maybe not 1000 calories) but definitely worth every bite. I guess I will always be a pork fan. oink oink.

Nothing wrong with pork. Pork loin and Canadian bacon are actually low in fat. It's the other stuff that will get you.

Wonder if a McRib even qualifies as meat?

yes I read about it too and experienced it. My daughter woke up too many times and I had to quit when it first started. After about quitting 10x in a role, I got a system msg that I cant connect for 10 minutes.
Ever since then, I've done the same but instead of quitting, I just left it alone and let the server kick me out. I haven't had any issues then. I guess it's treated like a bad connection, maybe? It's not good for my stats, but I play just to play.

It's sad, last night, some whinny kid was making fun of me saying my stats suck and I had more deathes than kills. Who would of thought? I thought it's always the older kids that bullies the younger ones? And not the other way around. Oh the times have changed.

Oh, so you have to do consecutive quits. I'll keep on eye on it. Haven't gotten a mini ban yet.

Whinny kids are why there's a mute button. Eff the stats, play for fun.

That's actually pretty mild. Some of the racist and homophobic crap that people say while playing is one of of the reasons I skipped MW3. BF3 usually have a more adult community and you can only talk to people in your 4 man squad so you get less of that crap. Also K/D is less important in BF3 since it's objective based.

BTW- How do you like the Kinect? Been thinking of picking one up for my daughter this Christmas. Only downside is the risk of being forced to share my xbox - LOL!

No kidding. Based on the way I was playing. I probably played better while chugging one down.

Kinect is good, highly recommend if your daughter is over 4 yrs old. At least for my kid, the Kinect had a hard time picking up smaller folks due to the distancing between the floor and the limbs (I was reading somewhere)

They got a bunch of cool games now especially if your kid likes to see him or herself on tv. They got one where they take an image of them and use the image to fight monsters and ninjas.
Another one which is about your kid being a princess doing princess stuff. etc etc.

Only thing is new xbox is coming sometime later in early 2013. So I am not sure when the xbox is going to sunset? Only other concern is possible privacy issues? (i.e. can someone hack into your kinect and watch you and make u look at annoying commercials based on your reactions?)

Last time I saw him, he was doing okay. But I haven't seen him in a while. He restrung my sticks about a month ago. I still think he's considering a move to FL.

Saw on article about Verizon patenting a Kinect like device that would read your body language and combine it with what you're watching to deliver customized commercials (http://www.pcworld.com/article/20189...r-actions.html). Could happen, but I'm thinking maybe not with this generation of hardware and plus I would forsee people trying to sue for invasion of privacy.

New Xbox may be soon, but I'd prob wait at least a year before I consider a next gen console. Besides looks like Valve may get into the game with a Linux based Steam Box, could be interesting.

Stuck in Florida sounds so negative.

I'm going to try a blue ribbon tonight in your honor. Makes me think, what's a quick dinner you can incorporate beer into?

LOL. yeah, I wouldn't mind being stuck there at all.

Pabst is great to cook with as well. Made a beer can chicken on the grill a couple of weeks ago. Drank half the can and I used a alum foil to wrap the chicken and beer with. Unwrapped the last 15 minutes. and good to go. Makes the chicken nice and moist.

It might be pretty nice out this Saturday, so I was thinking of making pepper stout beef:

Paulman, that's some yummy looking grub! Are those hot pepper there? How are you going to be cooking the meat? The beef looks browned really well. It's going to caramelized very well.
