Default USTA sign up for rankings

Once you have signed up for a tourment do they automatically put you into there online rankings or do you have to sign up to be in the rankings?

You have to play tournaments to gain ranking points. Different tournaments are worth more points than others. Once you win a match you will see your name on the ranking list. Good luck!!!

There are three USTA junior rankings, national, section or district for 4 age groups (12, 14, 16, and 1. One has to win matches to be ranked. If you or your kids have just started playing tournaments, you may need to start to play a few district tournaments. In the Middle States, the wins in district tournaments also count toward section ranking. You will need enough section ranking points to get into a section tournament. Wins at higher level section tournaments (Level 5, 4, and 3) would count toward national ranking. You need to accumulate enough national ranking points to get into national events.

No, you do not have to do anything other than signing up for the tourneys and or try to get into higher the level tourneys . (Playing and winning helps ) Rankings and points are taken care of automatically, because you would be registered with an USTA # in the tournament, and tournament results and, therefore, points, are tracked through that automatically. Ranking are then updated about once a week.
