Here's the facts:

Federer has won SIX MAJORS without facing a top 4 opponent.

WIM09, AO06, AO07, AO10, RG09, USO06

Federer's record vs top 4 opponents at AO = 1W and 6L

Nadal has won every major by being forced to beat at LEAST ONE top 4 opponent. Same with Novak Djokovic.

Nadal has beat 2 of the "big" 4, four times to win majors, Fed's only done it twice.

Mr.Federer has won more majors but as they say in life QUALITY over QUANTITY pal.
So basically what you're saying is Federer and Nadal have each won 11 slams beating at least one top 4 player. And Fedrerer has topped that by winning another 6 slams. So, what's your point? He can only beat the player across the net. At 30 years old he won Wimbledon beating the #1 and #4 ranked players. Pretty impressive wasn't it?

And BTW i don't ever recall Fed getting beaten by the 100th ranked player in the world in his prime at a major. Nor has he ever lost in the 4th round at his favourite slam in his prime. Oops.

And BTW your stat about Fed going 1 for 7 against top 4 opponents at the AO is pretty amusing especially since Nadal has won only 1 out of 4. Yes it's true because the other four times there he lost to #7, #9, #11 and #38.

What's more impressive? Losing to top 4 players or players outside the top 5?

Lol the real question is: what kind of warrior goes out of his way to hide from meaningful competition?

The same brave soul who makes injury excuses for virtually every loss.

Oh, and speaking of someone being smashed . . . .

Lol, pretty evident.

They won't bother with logic or any reasoning. They'll just keep on insisting Roddick and 35 year old Agassi were tough opponents, but of course, Fed was old at 27 already.

I also seem to remember commentators mentioning Fed hasn't ever won a slam where the top four reach the semis.

You're right. All they're doing is junking up this thread with their silly *******ism and trolling.

Really? I wonder how many times Nadal has won a slam where all the top 4 made the semis?

Mustard should know

But they did say Federer has reached the final in such a situation twice, losing to Nadal on both.

Just sayin', but that would be because Nads kept bombing out of non-clay slams while Fed was in his prime.....

Oh and to the bolded part, uh no. At RG 2010 the highest ranked player Nadal faced was #7 Soderling in the final. But nice try.

Here we go with this crap again. Nadal is 5 years YOUNGER than Fed. Five whole years. Why do you expect him to be making slam finals on his worst surface at 20 years old? Fed did not make his first final at RG until 2006 at nearly 25 years old. Does that really make sense to you?

Are you seriously trying to argue that Agassi, on the brink of retirement, was a tough opponent?

Are you seriously insinuating that an all-time great who finished that year as #7 while making the finals of Los Angeles, Toronto, and New York wasn't a tough opponent??

I was responding to your giant picture of Nadal losing a match that you described as his getting "smashed" because he lost. I posted back an even worse smashing, and in a slam final at that. If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

LMAO don't listen to the silly Fedfarts. Rafa is da best and will likely end up being the tennis, golf, and poker GOAT.

He will then retire and become a silly twenty year old who tunes in to all the best HBO originals and laughs in the face of all time greats. What a boss!

Easy there, Ann Coulter. You've just built a straw man!

And besides, nothing is worse than losing in the second round to the 100th ranked player in the world!!

I love the way Nadal molests Federer in this final !!
I bet Federer was swearing his guts out but is too scared of Rafa to let it out, unlike his match with Murray.
