Nadal has just reached 3.5 million followers on Twitter, surpassing Serena Williams.

Their current stats-

Nadal: 3,531,685 followers (813 tweets, 54 following)
Serena: 3,329,123 followers (10,899 tweets, 254 following)

On Facebook, Nadal and federer both have close to 12 million likes.

This now makes Nadal the most followed tennis player on Twitter ever (previously Serena led the pack).

They pull a lot of tricks in order to create more social buzz around celebrities and sports stars. 57% of Kardashian's Twitter followers are fake. 79% of Shakira's followers are also fake. Britney Spearks, Oprah Winfrey and Rihanna roughly have a list of followers of which 75%+ are fake and inactive accounts.
