It's been mentioned before. At any point in your life, a favorite band might change. But there will always that group or groups that you dust off the old CD's from time to time. I'll show my age
- Allman Brothers Band, Eat a Peach
- Jethro Tull, Aqualung
- The Who, Who's Next
- Black Sabbath, Self Titled (I think it was their debut album)
- Crosby Stills & Nash, Self Titled (It was their debut album)

This thread is kind of like the old discussion "If you were stranded on a deserted island, which albums would you want to have?"

With their respective hits, I'm kind of surprised these two haven't been mentioned so far:

U2 - The best concert I've ever seen was U2 in Houston in '92, with the Pixies as the opening act. (The Pixies were great also - Frank Black is a hoot.) I've seen U2 twice since then, and their live shows are always epic. I think I own every U2 album, plus a bunch of bootleg recordings. I believe they have sold over 150 million records, and have won 22 Grammy awards (more than any other band).

The Cure - I was also fortunate to see these guys in person toward the end of their mainstream popularity. Great show, and I've got most of their albums.

Great thread. Can't limit it to one band... and I'm not sure about the exact order but this is close...

1. Pink Floyd
2. Tool
3. Led Zep
4. Metallica
6. Black Sabbath
7. Clutch
8. Mastodon
9. Frank Zappa
10. Rush
