Yes, on clay Nadal is always the heavy favorite unless he is seriously injured or ill or too old.

So what is he exactly right now? And what makes you so certain he'll be 100% in June?

He will win because he isn't ill nor injured.

Exactly. He'll be back on court running around like a jack rabbit and win everything on clay. 2012 he pulls out of Miami due to a supposed injury and look what happened after.

haha...I love it, because, he only loses or doesn't play if it's one or the other. When healthy, nobody wins!!! (except Nadal).

RG 2011 and 2012 showed me that no matter Nadal's form or confidence level going into it, he will be favorite regardless at RG. I would not put much, if anything, into his withdrawal at AO regarding his chances during the clay season.

IF he is playing it, I wouldn't bet against him. He's a wrecking machine on clay, a bit like Clubber Lang - He just brutalizes you on that court.

Depends on his clay court run leading up to it. If he does relatively well and gets some run, he's the heavy favourite as usual. If he gets knocked out early or looks rusty, all those months off might have taken a chunk out of his stamina and that is a heavy blow with his play style.

Just checked my preferred betting sites, and Rafa is still the even-money favourite in both.

All of the above. Has Nadal skipped any clay season or any clay masters all through his career ? So if he sweeps the next clay season and wins RG , will people still continue to believe he was seriously injured all this while ? Will be interesting to see.

He missed 2004 FO, Wilander and Chang won it (FO) at 17 if I'm not mistaken so I wouldn't have put it past 17-18 year old Nadal to win it either.

I'd say yes, he's got plenty of clay tournaments to warm up for it. He won't be turning up without practise.

The way things are going, there's a better chance of a nickname RafawinsRG2013 than Rafa winning RG 2013.
