Sure Nadal beat 3 times in a row but that was on clay, whenever Nadal returns he'll still be the big favourite against anyone on clay, that won't change anytime soon but it doesn't make him a favourite against Novak in AO, USO or even Wimbledon (even though he's a better grasscourter overall).

Regarding 2012 AO, I could just as easily say that Novak should have wrapped up that match in 4 sets.
I see what you did there. Well played.

Brain power is in short supply around here - so when in Rome.......

In all fairness, when I posted this thread, there weren't any that had anything about Nadal/Ferrer in the title. I don't read every frigging post on the board you know.

I play tennis, rather than post endlessly about it.

. Nadal has not played since last spring and his missing his second grand slam in a row. it's pretty clear he is going to fall down the rankings. cheers.

I hope Nadal can return. The Murray Djoker match up is so boring.

Isn't it already safe to say Ferrer will be ahead of Nadal in the rankings by the end of AO considering he will forfeit his slam final points?

to overtake the nadal ?... nothing !
but in order to take the #5 spot, he should have to make sure berdych doesn't win the AO...

I still like the current BIG 4 scenarios. Come on Rafa.

Yeah I feel sorry for Ferrer. Ferrer will have a lot of trouble after Roland Garros, as Nadal has nothing to defend except for one match at Wimbledon. But again, I think Nadal would be very happy to see Ferrer ranked number 4 anyway. They are very good friends, and Ferrer has had a lot of trouble moving up the rankings recently due to Djokovic/Nadal/Federer/Murray standing in the way. It is a just reward for Ferrer, even if its brief.
