Default Why Roger will win the 2013 AO

#1 - Nadal is out
#2 - Fed is not obsessed about the #1 ranking and is mentally free to focus on individual slams
#3 - he's putting in his best training block since 2009 and we know that's the last time he won the AO
#4 - he's past worrying about "history" and is free to start ripping his forehand again

Yes beating Djoko in the final will be the big test.

Nobody is beating Novak Djokovic on the AO surface. Not even god-level Rafa who is grinding and defending his butt off!

Federer has a chance, but if he plays Djokovic (still a pretty big if on both accounts) in the final it is unlikely, but stranger things have definitely happened.

I think he'll either lose in the 4th round/quarter finals or make the final and lose in 4 to Djokovic.

I wonder what would happen if Fed played Murray in the final. Do you think Murray would be able to recover from another loss to Fed in a slam final?

We don't know the draw yet. Fed might get Murray in the semis.

Roger can't beat Nole in Australia.. Don't be ridiculous. This isn't indoor fast grass. The last two times they have played, Djoker took a huge **** on him.. And Fed was younger as well

Hell, Roger can't even beat Nole at Flushing anymore.. Much less Australia where conditions are perfect for Nole's style

People were saying he couldn't beat Nole in Wimbledon. It happened, never count Federer out!

Nothing happened.. They put a roof on thus making grass faster which was perfect conditions for Roger. (he may not even have beaten Nole without the roof, I don't know)

Australia and a indoor grass court is night and day. Grass (especially indoors grass, is Nole's worst surface and Roger's best.). Australia is Nole's best surface by far and one of Roger's worst now.

Oh please as if Nole isn't a great indoor player. I love the excuses!

He won his 17th slam and equalled Pete's Wimbledon record and did it at age 31, that is hardly nothing.

You can't ever rule Federer out in a slam, but I do think Djokovic or Murray will probably win the AO now.

Fed doesn't have a chance in hell vs. Nole in Australia (as the last two meetings have showed)

What helps Murray is that he has beaten Federer in a big final (Olympics) and he has also won a major. So maybe the mental block is gone now for Murray in major finals. It would be fun to see them play. Too bad Nadal is out of it.

So what if it rains in Australia and they have to close the roof. Now that would be very interesting.

I think its safe to rule Fed out vs. Djoker in Australia.. Thats a given. He would have to hope Djoker draws Murray in a semis beforehand. (though I'm not even sure he can beat Murray in Australia now)

Well, in that case, it will be Djoko in the final and Fed will be sc---ed. I was talking about the possibility Murray falls on the other side and somehow finds a way to get through.

The winner will be whoever doesn't have to put up with Murray in the semi.

Oh please, when did Federer play indoor grass before 2012? He had just as much experience as Nole!
