Default The whole arena was cheering for Del Potro to beat Federer at USO 2009

Del Potro was getting the entire stadium cheering for him when he was ripping those missiles past a defenseless Federer. They were cheering for the underdog it seemed. I wonder why they cheered for Del Potro over Federer?

Because Federer had already won 5 in a row?

Same reason the FO crowd never cheers for Nadal. As great of a player as he is, it's nice to see new winners at some point.

Maybe they didn't want Fed to beat an American's USO record(Connors/Sampras) or tie Big Bill's record?

Del Potro is a gentle giant, very likeable character. Federer was acting like a coc# in that match, he can be arrogant at times.

I don't remember them cheering for Delpo hardly at all.

Most NYers love Fed, even when he played Roddick at the USO it was at best 50/50, I would think most cheer Fed over Roddick.

Also, Nadal is a Spanish man, in France.

How so? Surely it wasn't the argument with the umpire. Don't tell me you believe that BS.

The whole stadium was cheering for DP: Is it a fact or just your opinion?

Your opinion is dumb, in my opinion.
